Thread: Personal Un-Guilded Guild Hall?

I skimmed all the FAQs I could find and haven't received a convincing answer to this question so thought I'd ask outright...

I love the floorplan of the Tatooine Guild Hall and I would like to OWN one as my personal "mansion"... the Player Housing Friday Feature points out that guild halls have special rules, and that page mentions that you can plant a Guild Hall and ~then~ create a guild... but that if your guild only has ONE person in it, the Guild Hall will be destroyed/removed.

A Master Architect friend of mine thought that it was CITY Halls, not GUILD Halls, to which this rule applied. The article does say that if I ~were~ a member of a guild, then I could plant a Guild Hall of my own BUT it would then become "part of" the guild.

Now, (a) I have not yet joined a guild and am not sure I ever will, and (b) if I ~did~ join one, and placed "my own" Guild Hall, would everyone in the guild have free reign to do what they liked with "my" house? Would just the guild leader?

If it's simply impossible for one, unguilded person to have a Guild Hall of his own, then I'll make do with a Large... but I would certainly prefer the Guild Hall.

Any advice would be appreciated

(except "Buy one, plant it and see if it vanishes!"... I'm not poor, but I don't want to throw away that much cash on an experiment)....

You can use a guild hall as a personal structure without being in a guild. I have done this in the past.

Also, if you join a guild it does not grant everyone access to the building. Your private/public status remains the same, and the Entry/Ban/Admin lists remain under your complete control.

By the FAQ saying that your hall become part of the guild it strictly means that your guild control terminal can be used by any guild member. You can view members, kick or add new members from the guild terminal. But the only person that has access to the contents of the building are those you give permissions to.

Thanks for the quick responses!

I'm glad to hear those answers, too!

Now I just have to figure out a way to combine the contents of my Large Tatooine House, my Medium Naboo House, my bank, and my backpack so I can re-deed the Tatooine LARGE and get a Tatooine GUILD hall and plant it.

AndI have to hope the Guild Hall will fit in the same "footprint" that the Large did ---- no-build yellow bars ALL around me, except my little island of stable land. Of course, this might bea good chance to relocate entirely ---- pesky syck and womp rats keep spawning all around my house

I highly doubt it'll fit the same footprint, as the guild hall footprint is a little odd looking.
