Well i havebeen thinking about this since the ROTW expansion was released.

How about instead of the dead cities (the main star port ones) where all players do is pass through, if we could use the buildings there ?

In ROTW we saw in swg the first use of instances, how about if this was utilised in the major cities for the buildings all about. A player could rent out a shop on the lower levels, this will bring players into the cities, and then use instances so players could rent out apartments.

This would help boost the population throughfare for the shopkeepers and would also allow players the chance to rent out some nice property

This would help boost the population

I'm not one to support "population boosts in large npc cities" aka Theed. I dont know if it's because Bria is so packed filled, but Theed used to be quite accessible when the usually 15-20 people could be found by the starport.

Now, I dont know if it was a pvp battle or something, but sometime earlier in the week I came back from my player city 2k from Theed to find in the ballpark of 50-60 people in front of the starport.

My ping skyrocketed to the thousands and my fps went down to .001fps. I like the spacing players keep now a days. I dont want to have a lag fest everytime I enter large cities anymore.

ahh yes this is true, but with a whole city using instances it would spread the population out, as people could use the shuttles etc, also you would not notice lag so much once inside the skyscapers, as its like a mini server, like in the caverns.

I'm betting that you can't use speeders in the caverns. And do you really ever have as many people in a dungeon as are in a city?
