After weaving my way through houses dropped surrounding the Dant Mining Outpost and other similiar collective places I started thinking that there should be a limitation on housing.
This limitation should be that no house can be placed without a city hall within the set restrictions. This does multiple things that helps the game:
1) Reduces lag around player concentration zones such as the Dantooine MOP as houses would have to belong to a city and thus less likely to swarm entire zones.
2) Makes the Politician profession more important as they would be more likely to be the organisers of multiple guilds/merchants locations rather than simply a guild leader who has his city built upon lot swapping.
3) Limits hiding of Jedi in insta-dropped houses which is an extremely non-Star Wars thing to do.
4) Enhances the viability of Scout/Ranger camps as they are then required to buff/heal rather than simply dropping a house to do so.
The most important points are that of reducing lag and houses requiring cities which enhances the importance of an over-looked profession, the politician.
None of this would harm anyone yet it would clean up the zones and improve particular professions.

I'm surprised no one else has a comment about this. I'm sure I can't be the only person these clustered, disorganised mases lags to a standstill or even those who see merit in them somehow.

actually, I don't like the idea. Some players don't want to be part of a city and unless you develop a"non-city" building that your hermits or other "i don't want to be in a city" people can use you're forcing them into content they don't want.

Yes, that's what the situation around Dant MOP must be... a bunch of non-city oriented hermits! hehe.
