Sounds like a wiining plan to me also! Hail to the active players striving to improve their cities. Time to clear up all the dead structures. I bet Bria's lag issues would improve ten-fold.

Once the maintenance freeze ends, I think some changes need to be instituted.
1) Any harvester that is condemned and on an account that has been expired for 30 days or more should be destroyed.
2) Any building or factory that is condemned and on an account that has been expired for 30 days or more should be packed up into the owning character's datapad.
Even though this would knock half of my city off the map, I think that it's time space is freed up for active players and cities. Plus, if those cancelled accounts come back, all they will have lost is their harvesters. They will still have everything stored in factories and buildings.

Agree, especially on the harvs. Since no onebut the owner can access them once condemned anyway, might as well nuke them after X days of being condemned. My town has 50 or 60 condemned harvs and factories around it, and they do nothing but block miners who want to actually, you know, mine.

This DEFINATELY needs to come. No one will be hurt, and server lag will decrease. Also, those goddam spot blocking ghost towns will disappear.

I moved in to a large town, the center of which is full of 'ghost houses'. I'm a cl 1 and ended up having to place a house and my factories right on the edge of town. Agro animals have no respect for the 'City Limit' sign ![]()
This is really needed for active players to have fair access to the interior of established cities.

Not to mention a significant decrease in lag as the servers wouldn't be trying to render these structures and their terrain flattening characteristics.

LOL !!
I will be HAPPY, if not all houses are POOFING after they re-enable maint. , cuz the houses then are "older" (virtually exist longer then the maint. was payed last time) and then "warp" into the destroy mechanism..
LMAO...watch it, this is SWG....
I just tell you:
When the announcement comes, make a payment one day b4 the re-enable it...

Well, with this latest Hurricane blowing in, I'm sure the end of the maintenance freeze is going to a long time from now.

I don't see it happening anytime in the near future, probably not until early next year at best. However, when the maitenence freeze is lifted, I hope the Devs see the damage being done to the gameby the excessive amounts of condemned harvestors, factories and houses. I say damage, because I believe having all of those condemned structures clogging up the landscape really does hurt the economy and player base at large.
