How many times has something like this happened? You're in (for example) southern Lok, and you want to return to your home in northern Dantooine. So you go to a city, buy a ticket to Nym's spaceport, fly to Dantooine (many thanks to JTL for allowing that) and land at the Mining Outpost, buy a ticket to your city.
Again, I'm grateful that JTL has streamlined the process, eliminating the need to fly through Corellia or Naboo. I'm proposing a further streamlining.
When you buy a ticket - that screen could have an additional tab: Connect. You click on that to add tickets to your flight. Thus, when you leave Lok, you go directly to your home city.
If you have JTL, you would stop at a starport when leaving a planet (in case for example you have multiple ships and need to select one). If you don't have JTL, you can buy tickets all the way through. So in my example, I could go to Area Sixty-Six on Lok and buy connecting passages to Nym's, the Mining Outpost, and Ataxia.

This isn't a bad idea! Not only would this enhance the way we travel it would give players more time to play if they have a busy schedule. Maybe you should start a petition and submit it for Dev review.

Great idea it would provide faster travel and a more realistic feel. As long as you pay the same price for the connecting tickets as if you bought them one at a time it will please the people that say we r running out of money sinks.@_@

Would your ship be docked at the starport still? Cause if that answers the question in my head then its a great idea

In a perfect system - the Galactic Travel Agency would realize I had my own ride from Lok to Dantooine, and so I'd only need to pay for the connecting passages.
Of course, if I wanted to, I could pay to fly all the way through and leave my ship at Lok - maybe if I had to get to my home very quickly for some reason.

I like the idea. However, the original purpose of the Starport and delay between travel was both "star warsy" and to try to encourage player interaction.
When they realised most players went AFK for 10 min waiting on the Starport shuttle, they reduced the time.
The purpose for having to travel to Coronet to get to other planets was because of connecting hyperspace routes (highway). You cannot get from New York to LA without driving through some other cities (lame analogy, but accurate).
