How about a new command for the militia and mayor called /cityeject? City banning only limts the toon's use of city services. Imagine a disruptive or opposing faction player flagrantly violating the rules of behavior in your city. Name calling, spamming, being an imp combatant in a rebel town.
The command would eject the player from the city limits and prevent them from re-entering for 20 minutes.

all those kinds of functions are gone forever because the dev's let player cities occupy poi's. unless they nuke all cities next to them, we will never see cityban and the like return.

Yeah, I can see potentials for abuse for it with the current system. It wasa good thought, though.

How about actually mentioning some of them? I haven't seen anything yet that shows me that it would be bad.

If they are harassing in nature or if they are using inappropriate language there is already a command, its called /report.
They won't bring back cityban and I'm sure they'll never implement this idea either. Cityban was used to grief to much as could this one. Basically it would give you the right to eject anyone who did something you didn't agree with. There is no CSR investigation as weill report. Nothing but really your whim, which is why you'll never see it.

Once again, I don't see how this could be used to grief. If the issue is using this against guild members or declared citizens, then remove that ability. Have the command only work against non-citizens and non-guildies. Also, this is only a 20 minute timer. It's barely a slap on the wrist.
Give me some examples of how you think this will be exploited and used to grief another player.

the grief potential is this: many cities are built on poi's (krayt canyon etc). you can effectivly /cityban someone from a poi. this is one of the reasons that kind of functionality is gone.

It happened in the early days before the command was removed. Since it would require destroying a lot of existing cities, and reducing planetary caps by making big portions of the map unbuildable for cities, the command was removed.

Another thing is the fact that alot of player citys have GCW bases in them. If your base is getting blow up **UHOH** /CITYEJECT and bam, you stop the timer, issue resolved. This could be exploited ... alot

As for the POIs, they should have no build zones around them anyway. As far krayt canyon specifically, it's quite large and I find it hard to believe that any cities built around it could cover it enough to have that sort of effect.
For the bases inside cities, I can see that. Hadn't thought about that.
