I was redecorating our city's main throughfare last night which consisted of moving some street lamps, park placements, and adding new "sponsored by" city fountains. I had one fountian perfectly centered with the front of the cantina that needed replaced with a new one. I went to place the new fountain and low and behold, I'm suddenly too close to neighboring structures to put it back exactly where one was. Same style and all. I noticed statues are now in the same predicament. I'm assuming that this was changed because of some morons using these decorations to greif players by blocking structures. So, because of these morons, are all cities being punished and not able to creatively decorate a city?

If that's the case, why? If that kind of griefing is taking place, then there is a single person to held accountable (the mayor) and should be dealt with. If this is truely the reasoning behind it, it seems likea poor choice in energy being used when there's other footprint issues that would be better taken care of. Why not make the decorations "not solid" like city parks where you can walk through them? In a tighly developed metropolis it's becoming increasingy difficult to deliver the creature comforts like these when the ability to place them up against walls is gone. Can we have some discussion on this?
