I want a shuttle to be able to take me to any waypoint I have in my datapad. Not pick me up. Just a "take me to these coordinates" kind of system. Take out the roundtrip feature, make starports still only able to take you to predetermined shuttleports and starports, but let PC and NPC shuttleports drop you off anywhere you want to go.
You could even create buffer zones around POIs or dangerous zones to make sure they are still hard to reach, but let me get a shuttle right to my house or harvester, or meet up with my party directly.

Shuttle: Regular travel back and forth over an established, often short route by a vehicle.
What you want is a taxi service, which the game does not have.
