Thread: Player City Bonus

I tried to search for an answer to this and ended up with some 200+ hits. Its surely outthere but i hope you people dont mind im asking again


When does the city bonus (research city and so on) affect a player ?


Any player who enters the city ? or do you have to be a registered citizen ?.


If you have to be a registered citizen how long does that take then, from you declare residence at your house in the city before your a citizen ?


The way i understood the research bonus it adds 15% to your final experimentation result, as if you make a pistol with 100 max dmg the final result would be max 115 dmg. Is that right ?

Well i believe this is how it works:


1)To get the bonus the city must aleast have a field (Medical, etc)

2)The bonus only effects players that live/registered at the city(i believe)

3)Merchant bonus or engineering, you need to have a vendor in the city (i believe)

4)Once you register to the city it takes either a few mins to 1 day not too sure

5)Different city fields give out different bonus, if the city has (something medical) it gives bonus to anyone that has medical skills and etc etc

6)Once you see (YOU HAVE ENTER THE CITY) the bonus will begin to take effect once you leave the bonus leaves you

7)I think thats it

Any player who enters the city ? or do you have to be a registered citizen ?. Research and Manufacturing would be citizens only unless you allowed just anyone to use a "public crafting house". I could be wrong on those as i've yet to experiment with those. However, specializations such as Medical Center and Improved Job Market work for anyone (tmk) as long as they are in the city borders.

IF this is the case, which i don't believe it is in at least 2 of the above specializations (not clear on Research and Man.) their citizenship would be declared right away as long as they have not changed from residency to residency within a 24hr period.

No, it increases your experimentation MOD by 15%, which may give you the ability to experiment more by giving you one or more extra experimentation poinnts...


You can use these to change what you craft in the same way that you do normally.

No sorry, that's incorrect also. The research center bonus does not give you one or more extra experimentation points. Every assembly/experimentation is based a roll of the dice. This bonus increases your chance ofamazing and greatresults and reduces the chance of good, moderate and failure results. It's a small bonus that you are unlikely to notice as the majority of crafting attempts are successful. It will never result in an extra point of experimentation but what it will do on occasion, but not terribly often, is enable you to max the damage/speed linewith one point less than it would normally take, enabling you to put that extra point into some other experimentation line. The damage you can attain with a particular weapon is dictated by the resources used in both the components and the final build, so the only way you can ever increase the damage on a 100 max dmg pistol is to use better resources or some type of enhancement like krayt tissue or the high powered energy capacitator.
