Everyone knows the horror of moving furniture around - Especially when you want to make it look like before you redeeded your house/ship/whatnot...
So here's the idea - Why not make a command that tells you the item's exact coordinates withing the house/ship?
Example, I target a closet and type:
/furniture
I then get:
Item is positioned at 113.2 16 -34.2 with rotation 98
The coords should be in the same order as our good old compass.
Of course, the coordinates are relative to the house itself, not to the world-coordinates.
Another idea if this was added, is that SOE could add a new form of command to the /move..
Example:
/move position 113.2 16 -34.2 98
The furniture will then be moved to that position, and changed to that rotation-angle (and basically be just where it was before)
Of course, as with all the other move commands, if the furniture can't be placed there you'll get the default "can't place there" message. But the general idea here is to prevent people from having to take about 30000 screenshots in order to make their redeeded house look just right again, and maybe even promote the use of SWG's mostly-unused /note command.
Good or bad idea? Post your thoughts here (and please bring a Dev along

Sounds like a good idea, although sometimes the fun of moving is that things arent the same and you get to do it all over again.

Damnit, can't someone force a dev in here?
Maybe tie him/her to a chair and force him to look at, like, a few thousand browser-windows, all showing this page - how does that sound??

Sounds nice - it would cut down decorating time. But, I doubt SOE will spend thousands of man-hours to write code that makes it slightly easier for some (and insanely more complex for others) to move items and furniture around their house. If you want your house to look perfect, you'll spend the extra time to get it that way. There are thousands of other things that need to be fixed in the actual gameplay before the devs get to this.
I think its a good idea, but dont expect any devs to put this anywhere on the priority list.

What about this idea...
Game goes into structure placing mode.
but instead within the room you are in.
all items already in room can be moved or rotated etc.
much easier
