Due to the recent death of one of our guild I have been looking for a way to make a suitable memorial. There is nothing ingame that suits this purpose. I would like to see a set of statues craftable by architects which would represent the different playable races so that as a communtity we have the ability to remember those we lose.

Thats cool, then it should have an examinal panel on the bottom or maybe just examing the statue, and the person that places it can write a short message or something

Statues should only be created for humans. Anything else should be destroyed by the Galatic Empire. Who wants statues to remember worthless non-human scum. We have to live with them day by day, when they're dead I don't really want to have to look at their ugly faces 100x the original size. (Just role-playing, I don't really care)

Thankyou Millionaire. In this case however the 'non human scum' is a little rodian played by a girl called Anne. She was killed a few days ago by a drunk driver in Norway.

Ouch.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Why not make a small statue, the blue one or orange one, and name it after her character? Then place it somewhere in the city. "Remembrance of **character name**".

I have often said that both player races and statues could be miniaturized and become craftable items. Fountains and statues would make nice decorations. Just my two cents.

The idea might not be that far from being realised.
One of the artists (SWG-Goliath) posted a bit on the smuggler forum a few days ago and among other things anwserd a question about statues.

Nothing fance or hard, just in game models, like the character toons, put on square blocks and textured with the basic sand stone statue texture. *Should* only take a few hours. A Mon Cal with a chef's hat would rule -hint- or to get it back on topic, maybe one of a smuggler like character. We basically only have two in the game, and those are farely old at this point.Love your ship btw, what pixels and polygons are you pushing lately?not likley my plate wouldnt be packed full with art assets for all these publishes every 2 weeks, expansions, and combat upgrades, but ill defintly ask my boss if i can work later and add some more stuff to my plate
j/k

All races would be a cool idea, but I find the current sentinal statues do quite well. I have four in my hall named after my deceased grandparents (RIP) and I was going to make one for myself, along with a coffin, back in January when I was about to quit. However, I agree that there should be some way to add a bit of text to a crafted item. It would make museum's interesting, bookshelves act like they actually contained books, and statues honouring someone actually be able to list their accomplishments.
