Thread: Instanced apartments in player cities (dead horse being beaten? LOL)
- GCW - make historically (by historical, I mean either EU/movies/canon) Rebel or Imperial cities STAY Rebel or Imperial, regardless of PvP/PVE bases on that planet...Make certain cities only available to Imperial, and certain cities available to Rebel.
- Implement rank restrictions for certain cities for apartment availability (bigger apartments for colonels, than say, warrant officers). Bella Vista would be PERFECT for high ranking Imperials, for example.
- The lack of spawns can directly be attributed to the multitude of cities that pop up any given day on any given planet. Get rid of the cities, you fix the spawns
- Limit number of player cities per planet even more
- Decreases lag in the wild
- Limiting number of player cities will also make the wild more aesthetically pleasing (no more dead cities, etc)
- Money sink - rent on these apartments could be higher than the maintanence on houses. Would do more for the economy than the nerfing of solo missions
- Make neutral cities that are affected by GCW, further impacted by the number of Imperials/Rebels living there
- Make maintanence for said apartments fluctuate depending on whether the planet controlled by same faction as the dweller. If Imperial is living in an apartment in a city that is controlled by Rebels, make the maintanence cost more than if it were controlled by Imperials.
It has alot of potential to make the cities feel more alive and more immersive in a SW kind of way...
Personally, I would LOVE to live in Tyrenna...Bella Vista...Karen....
Flame away...

I agree with you on the appartment option it would bring people back to the city. It would be nice to be able to have a better appartment based from rank. That system would be unfair to people that dont want to participate in the GCW though. maybe an appartment for rank but non aligned people would have to pay for it, That would decrease the other citys size. Hopefully it would help to decrease the amount of player citys out there maybe consolidate them a little.
A solution that would be:
Given that a high ranking Imperial/Rebel officer, in theory, would get paid more, the larger/nice apartments could cost more than the ones available to low ranking officers. The nicer apartments for high ranking officers wont be free. They'll have a premium cost, for sure
If a civilian wants to own an apartment comparable to a high ranking Imperial/Rebel officer, then make the rent the same. Or perhaps a little more, since, for instance if an Imperial officer wants to live in an Imperial controlled city, they SHOULD be afforded a "discount" than what a civilian would...
by the way, you meant instanced apartments in NPC cities, no...?
i wuold love it. about us civilians. i only hope they make some criminal faction soon. would love to have an apartment in mos eisley that i rented from jabba or someone. oh well. probably never...
