I've seen it done on many other player cities, I'm wondering how can I do that for my player city's bases too.
Please help. Thanks for the help in advance.

You need to use medium houses, they are basicly the only ones that seem to work on doing the "wall". Placing them side by side is another story though.

Placing them side to side is what I'm curious of. Do I place the houses to face alternative directions?

nope just have them face in one direction, The corner houses might have to be place in a alternative direction though.

You'd have to use Medium Naboo homes to builda securewall. The Medium Generics have a way to slip between the homes if approached from the correct angle. Then you have the problem of the base footprint. If you place the homes first you can get the base inside but if the base already exists then the no-build zone around the base is far larger.
While it's a neat visual, I personally wouldn't do it as the whole process if extremely resource intensive, dozens of homes, millions of credits in constant maintenance. Far cheaper just to get a reliable supplier and replace the base when needed.

I have also done this with the Naboo houses. If you approach the line between the houses at a slight angle you will drive right through one of the houses. That kinda defeats the purpose of building a wall. Other than looking cool.

In our city we've had this style for over a year. And yes while people can slip in between a house, once they are in its really hard to find a place to slip OUT of. So it can be quite the bear trap if you use it right. That and it also does look awsome when well maintained

yes this is the cool part...we have medium naboos facing inward towards the base
you can get in easy but with only one pathway out and its not easy to slip out from the front....traps them in with the big turrets heh

Trapping people in is exactly why the "slip between" was put in. Before, if done right, it was possible to actually trap someone in an area of houses with no way out. Thankfully, that's not possible to do anymore.
