Thread: Dathomir Outposts...DEVs/ Content Designers please take note

**Note**
I know this is the Cities and Housing forums....but I have no idea where I can post this.
Ok we all know that Dathomir is suppost to be the kind of place that people have nightmares about.
There are high level red con agro all over the place, most things that inhabit that planet are evil looking, and the planet itself is a very drab/dreary looking place with its dark nights, heavy rains, hot hazy afternoons, heavy fog, and evil trees.
I have a few ideas to bring the fear back to that planet....
Outposts
I really think that the outposts (both trade and science) need to be enhanced(visually)...basically eye candy to give the illusion of a dangerous fearsome place to be.
When you first get to the planet you should get a scense of "whats on the other side of those walls is bad news!!"
So with that in mind
Walls
...maybe you can make the walls a bit higher or put barb wire or some kind of what looks like an electrical field around the tops of the walls.
Other types of baricades outside the perimeter walls. (ie barbwire fences, electric fences, force fields)**note** this does not mean closing off the entrances**
Remember Dath is teaming with bad things and the worst of the bad are our beautiful female friends...the NightSisters.
The Empire has done everything possible to try and keep those prom queens from escaping the planet and system....so why would the outposts look so feeble and defenseless??
StaticTurrets
you can put somestatic turrets near the entrances of the outposts to give that feeling of security.
Again these turrets would be static...they don't even need to fire, again basically eyecandy for illusion.
Yes these Outposts may not be under Empirial control or may be some sort of base for research...but com'on..on a planet like dath...even the scientists would want that security blanket
Spotlights on high poles or towers
nothing would look cooler then seeing the glow from those big spotlights shining through the fog as you are racing to get back to the outpost with some love crazed Nightsister force choking you along the way...gives you that feeling of.."just a little bit more and I will be safe again"
MOBS
make it so that mobs will spawn closer to the Outposts so that sometimes they are right outside the walls when you arrive. That would look cool to see just the very top of a rancors head above the walls as it walks around the outpost lookin for some unfortunate fool to step beyound the main protective fences.
also for Mobs....spawn some crazy stuff on Dath too...(not just coronet for halloween..See picture
How bout a creature that spawns all over he map(maybe about 5 at a time all in different random areas.) This creature would not be able to move (only within the radius of its lair, so if you got your bike smashed by it on the way past..you could still run to safety.) This creature can be attacked...but it can't be killed 100% resist to everything and 1 million HAM, that has insane fierce attacks...not even 20 master combatants can kill this thing...This creature will NOT show up on the overhead map, and can NOT be tracked by rangers. It's lair is like a burrow of some kind..(like a small cave) the creature is kind of worm, that apon an unsuspecting traveller coming within range of the lair itattacks, while half its body remains in the lair. Its wormshapped body has 4long tenticles that can reach 70m(rifleman max range is 60 after CU) Its fierce attack with its tenticles can knock you down, then when knocked down, the creature uses the same technique a med uses to "Drag" the player closer to its lethal attack area, which is a lovely combination of poison atacks and disease attacks....this thing is uber, and you don't want to encounter it.
It makes Elders look like kreetles.
Imagine being out on dath, hunting, grinding, travelling, whatever the cash may be, and suddenly BAM your bike explodes and this mess of tenticles and a gaping maw erupt from its lair that you had no idea was even there.
Thats the fear!!...All you can do is run and pray you can make it out of its attack radius in time..just when you are almost clear...boom..KD and dragged back for more torture, disease, and poison.
Your heart will race at the sudden events unfolding before you.....will you escape or will you be catching a free ticket to the cloner??.....don't forget to insure when on Dath.
**NOTE** if the Devs and content designers like the idea for this new terror....you can call it a RagingDel Worm named after me
or you can name it whatever you like as I think it would be a pretty cool addition to the game.
These are just my thoughts.
I do feel that the Outposts should be remodeled or at least enhanced to give the illusion of Dath beening that place we feared when we were nOObs...give it that feeling that once you pass through those gates...be afraid...be very afraid.

Cool ideas! Even though I fear very few creatures in the game nowadays, Dath is still pretty creepy.

as is the case with many people I'm afraid.....thats why the DEVs have to "Bring the fear back to Dath"

Okay, No. The Events when the NS attack the science outpost should be enough, sorry if you've missed them.
Endor is just as rough as Dathomir, those outposts look very similar to the ones on Dathomir and I do not think any of them need to be tinkered with.
I'd like to see real advantages added to using "real" cities for more than just hop betweens of player cities, Eye Candy is a waste of my money, I want real content, I can't see much enjoyment from going to a starport.
