When you use a structure deed you are presented with an area map that shows where you can build. What about coding this map to camps?
There is nothing more aggravating than being told you cannot place your camp here due to lair, building, or city zone and not knowing WHERE THE ZONE ACTUALLY IS. A CSR ticket was submitted - The reply was you cannot build withing 1000m of a City Center.
On Ahazi, there are player cities placed in close proximity to POI's on Dantooiene; you cannot build a camp as close as the cities are placed tothese POI's. While the original buildings were placed away from the POI, the cities have grown in size and now surround the POI's.
Mobs can spawn anywhere, so why can't these temporary structures (camps) be placed just like a mob?
On another note, what about a Ranger Cabin? When placed, the structure uses one lot, can hold 50 items, costs 10 per hour, and disappears when the Ranger leaves the planet. The cabin would offer the same benefits as a High Tech Field Base, but would not disappear when the Ranger is involved in combat or leaves the premises. Must be a Master Ranger to place the Cabin; the Cabin cannot be transferred to another player.

I don't think this feature is very necessary. I don't think people really get that much aggravation setting up a camp and come to think of it, how many people even use camps that much anymore. Perhaps in the CU they will, but you should probably be posting this in another forum.

What are you using these camps for? Just curious
If you really are that close to a city center. Will the city not "Do"?
It would be nice to see camps really get worked so that you could answer my first question.

If you want the effect of having a camp next to your house (and I have done this), is to build your house insiode city limits but right on the city limits (look at the Poltician forum to see exactly the radius of city limits are for a city of yours rank. Then pitch the camp next door, just outside the limits.
Why did I do this? Well it was a cheap way to get a Weapons/Droids & Food crafting station (didnt actually have to buy them), and a cheap way to gain camping XP as people went thru my camp on the way out of town. ALso it made for a local source to buy factional supplies (before the faction items radial got nerfed off our camps)
I suspect this is what the poster is after, being able to pitch the camp in town and have people run thru it on their normal business to give free camping XP.
Its also a cheap way to get the med center/cantina effects w/o actually owning either. (if you are willing to go afk a lot, you can use the camping macros to make the camp a semi-permanent attachment to the town

Rangers as a rule hunt unbuffed. We, as a rule, don't care for all the walking 'Soup Cans' walking around in Composite Armor.
Only Clones wore Composite Armor in the movies, soI don't think it should be available to players. So, since we hunt unbuffed, placing a camp in the wild's is our best chance of healing since there are no Medical Clinic's or Cantina's available close by.
Ranger Camp's are Nerfed in that even the High Tech Field Base is a joke - By the skill tree they are supposed to keep out critters - far from it - they don't even keep out Womp Rats. We can get agro and our camp become's abandoned and unusable.
We, as a rule, have been mistreated by SWG from the beginning since no one seems to know what a Ranger actually does or should do. Some would say we are only a support class since we are self-propelled harvesting machines.
IRL - A Ranger is a TKM/Commado/Medic/Rifleman all rolled into one and the Ranger skill tree should reflect this.

Came back to the game after 6 months and every planet looks like a HUD project gone crazy. The only part of urban blight missing here are brownfields and crackhead squatters. SOE please, do something for the palyers who still pay you.
((I did the right thing and took down all my stuff last time I left))

Just limit the Ranger to one cabin and they have to be a master ranger. Let them keep the cabin up long as they want. With just one cabin, they will be tempted to have a roving cabin. Would be so helpful to hold hides etc while hunting. Cabins would not be allowed in cities. And they would hold 200 items. Got to be worth it.
