Just a question but what happens when a city decides to build themselves around our house and they decide to place taxes on the citizens?
Reason I ask is I have a house I have not checked on in a while and someone has the begining of a city around it. There are enough houses and such to have one, jsut lacking a City Hall as far as I can tell. I have contacted a few people about this but they have decided not to answer me. It is a storage shed to me so if I am going to get taxed Im going to move it before the SWG accountants get at my bank account, hehe.
Thank you in advance.

Just first have to pay taxes when u decide to become a citizen (declare residence") of this city - no citizen = no taxes.

You sure about that? Course it's been a while since some of my storage buildings were added to a city. I kept emails about it.

Well your property would be subject to whatever taxes they create, assuming they start a city. Hmm, you don't have a storage shed near your house?

I have this storage shed just outside of a starport, I use it for space loot items. Makes its quicker for me to place and replace stuff into my ships. So than it looks like I get taxed if they plan to go that way. Thank you very much guys.

I wouldn't expect a free pass on the tax issue. Perhaps the residency issue affects whether you are subject to the city's income tax, but that won't earn you any benefit as far as the city property tax. I had a harvester annexed by a growing city, and I certainly started paying the property tax to that city until I moved my harvester out of the city limits. If a city is taxing harvesters, I assume they will tax any player's structure for property taxes.

Hmm you loot enough good stuff to need storage? Why not just sell to the chassis vendor?

ive had this problem before and i got taxed big time, i run a guild on infinity and we didnt want a city but someone decided to plop a town hall next to our houses and sheds and the lot, never asked us, and never answered us for 4 weeks, u imagine that a guild our guild had a total of 50 houses and several storage sheds and harvies and he placed a 5000 income tax a week, now from what everyone is saying here is well its tough if he wants to use us as donor houses then he can, well why should we move houses that are decorated and are full of items. this shouldnt be allowed there should be a system where the town hall has to be placed before the houses for the first ten and then IF the town boundries cross over your houses guildhalls (which have to have been placed before the townhall )etc u should get an invite to join the town. if u refuse to join then he doesnt get you on his citizens list, u may say that is harsh and u will be using his stuff, well ye maybe we would use his shuttle but u pay to use a shuttle anyhow, and this way it would make ppl who now want to create towns because of the fact poli doesnt cost points anymore to think, sothey set a town with there freinds and not ambush ppl's settlements, to rectify this we did have to move which i am really not happy about because it took us 4 complete days to move.and u know what reply we got when he finnaly did answer tough my land your lose it says it on the planetry map, if u could really punch someone without duel id have made him wish perma death was real.

1) I dont expect to be excempted(sp) from the tax but need to know if I will get tax if they start up and decide to do taxes, only fair to me.
2) Its a storage shed in a city I would not be part of I dont care about paying taxes the house is only there out of shear lazyness. I pay taxes as it is in the city I am living in.
3) The location would be good for some one who would be living in the city, right behind a guildhall.
4) Did not intend to make this look like I am mad that a city built around me. It dont bother me, what bothers me is no one is talking to me from there, with my only question being that of the tax one.
5) I dont have tons of space loot in it, but I like to play with different items in different ships.
6) I gave up Imp pilot at 3/3/3/3 to finish my reb badges so most of the stuff in there will be waiting for me when I go back to my imp piloting
Going to try to get reb master pilot then go back imp. Right now reb pilot 1/1/1/1

If you outnumbered him, you could all register and take over the town and elect a new mayor.
