Well I like to pvp ALOT so does the rest of my OGG. Why am I in SWG with a total of 3 out of a possible 70 members of the OGG.
SWG IS CAREBEAR TO THE EXTREME!!!!!
That being said most went to Guild Wars cause they have group v group pvp and competitive questing. So this gave me an idea. In guild wars you still have to ask to duel people (not the same exact system as SWG but similar enough) but in GW you get to do a group v group sort of combat.
So a way to fix this and add a bit more pvp into SWG without freaking all the people that are terrified of losing a pixelated nonexistant fictious item.
PvP Arena Buildings for Player Cities. It could be just like any other public building in a city, craftable by players, and a usefull tool for player run events. Its all consensual based pvp cause only the people entering the combat arena are would actualy be targetable. There would of course need to be some sort of viewing area to watch the fight from.
Also since im only suggesting woudlnt it be cool if there were betting terminals to bet on combatants!!!!
All in all I dont think there is a down side to something like this.

I like carebears . . . especially lotsa heart bear 
anyway, PvP right now is screwy due to the "overpowered" jedi and the "exploiting gank squad" BHs. If you want more PvP i suggest getting a jedi or a BH . . that way you can have PvP as much as you want.
Conversly . . .you could go out into space where its supposedly PvP all the time.
SWG is supposed to cater to all players . . . be them PvP or "carebear".

A type of gladitorial arena perhaps? I don't see how this can harm any one, especially if upon entering there's a pop-up that says:
Warning, upon entering this structure you will become attackable by all players inside it
click ok, and you can go in, click no, and you get bumped out. Seems like a simple idea, and it does offer content for some towns (tournaments, RP, etc)
I don't see any thing wrong with this idea, even considering that i'm a care bear supporter, but sadly my first thought was "they turned off the PVP battle fields, this prolly won't be acceptable"
