other than ot being able to use certain Player City ammenities . . . city ban is really not a big deal . . .but what if . . .

Politicians were able to place NPC militia members (like NPC trainers) who would patrol the city for "those that aren't supposed to be around" Upon finding an offender, they would attack. Of course these NPCs would start off at a low CL and increase with the skill level of the Politician as well as their quantity could increase along with the Poly's skills. It would make city-ban alittle more . . . interesting to say the least as well as allow a mayor to actually protect their citizens from outside dangers entering their town

I think thats a great idea. If you get people banning you for no reason, then why would you want to go to that retarded city? If only the mayor can do this and not disident members of the city then whats the big deal? I support the idea who cares about one or two retarded people that screw their cities by banning random people, why would they even go there and why should they care? If they ban you for a good reason and your angry, go and kill some of those gaurds if your that mad?

How about take this idea a little bit further and add it into the re-instatement of /citywarn? If you get banned it's the same as now, but how about also if you say something inappropriate? Say they say your town sucks hehe. Then the NPCs would fine them a certain amount of credits that would go towards the city bank account. Next comes city warn, which puts people as enemies vs. town NPC mercs. And if they happen to die to the mercs then they get fined as well. This could turn out to be a great stepping-stone for factionally-aligned cities. \

/two thumbs up!

Again i can see this being exploited in pvp situations, now i dont only get ganked by other players at the shuttle, but NPC's to? i know for a fact that there is a city on my server that had the mayor sit by the shuttle on a cityban macro.

this is a good idea. a similar idea was put forth in one of the other threads relating to militia powers and there was actually a response from thunderheart who said something to the effect of...

"this would be hard to do."

the devs are too busy trying to figure out how jedi can hold 2 lightsabers at one time to worry about something like existing game mechanics.

--edit--

here's the address (i don't know how to link or quote on these forums):

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=citieshousing&message.id=6390&view=by_date_ascending&page=2

here's the idea:

"Or.. since players can "grief" each other too easilly how about npc's that patroll the city and can attack players that have been banned. They would have to be lvl 80's atleast though. Maybe make the npc patrolls cost money from the city treasury but atleast it something."

here's Thunderheart's response:

"That is definitely a fun idea, but more difficult to implement than might appear on the surface."
