Hello everyone,

I am mayor of a metropolis on Starsider named Fort Oasis. One thing that I thought would be cool is if civiv/commercial structure get a different appearance as they increase in rank. Due to some technical problems, the internal floorplans would need to be exactly the same as they increase in rank; however, they can still make the exterior look different I'm sure. Like maybe your city hall will look taller as it increases in rank, and will have banners of that corresponding planet on it for example.

Another idea that would be cool is if metropolis' could have those little ships flying over their city for added effect. And maybe level 2 cities and up could just have random NPC's walking around, even ones that give thosesimple delivery missions.

Ability to build roads must be given for all cities. Just give us the ability to select different textures, IE: tiled, cement, dirt path, etc. I think roads shouldn't cost anything, but maybe master politicians could only do this. Walls should also be a possibility as well. Street signs are another idea. An ability to place up to just one permanent event perk (just decorations)would be a nice touch, and it would make each city look uniqe.

I agree as well! Great Idea!

And building on your idea of changing the appearence of the facade, why not allow ALL floor plans available on ALL planets, and the default facade be what the planet suports? Of corse, Dantooineand Tallus would allow the player to choose the exterior themselves.

This way, you might get a traditionally Tatooine guild hall built on Naboo, but the exterior facade (and interior for that matter)default to the classical brick we currently see. Imagine the building varity this would offer! Simularily why not allow interiors to be customized (maybe with customization kits simular to vehicle customizable kits). Personally, I would like to see the interior of my Naboo guild hall- including the basement, to have the Victorian appearence of a Naboo large house. I hate the current interiors of guild halls.. but they offer the best floor plans for my needs. Maybe even,if it is a Naboo guild hall, to allo for the interior some more grand designs simular to Theed Palace. Theed Palace is absolutly beautiful, and to allow for a guild hall simular style would be grand!

I definetly LOVE the idea that a city hall and other civic buildings exterior facades change with the rank level. THAT is a very intelligent and simple way to allow for varity and city custimazation without unduly much thought put into it for the dev team!

I agree with your suggestion about pavement and other 'texture' features, people love the beauty of the static cities, and we politicans want to create some of that beauty in our communities. Yet all we get is the abillity to place houses desperatly about, and though we have the 'traffic' avenues in our minds, we can not see them in the game.

Additionally, buildings outside of player cities should be more expensive to maintain then in a player city. Maybe even buildings cost a player one less lot per building in a player city.

Another simple and unique way to create some customization would be if a building is placed in a city, then it also automatically gets a porch light added to it, maybe large houses have lighting that emphasises their archatectural feautes. All this WITHOUT adding to the city budget. The porch lights would have a varity of options that the mayor can choose from the city hall menue, to encourage uniformity in design. You would be surprised HOW many people this would draw into the city, as people would love to see their homes lighted. AND if they have balconys or roof top verandas, allow for lighting fixtures up there as well. This is simple and would also draw people into cities!

also, why not have the ability to deed some buildings, such as a guild hall, to the city. The city would pay its maintience out of their taxes, and the now city owned building not cost any lots. This way, guild halls used as malls would truely be community owned.

also, allow the smaller guild halls.... you know the ones I speak of, the ones with statues already at the entrence (they most oft appear as trainer guilds).. tobe playercreated andowned. This is another type building already in the game that can easily be incorperated into player buildings.

also, maybe we could also have theme music when we enter into one of our homes? or when we enter into one of our cities. That would add a pleasent touch.

also, we should get tax revenue from the use of city mission terminals and cloning stations, and maybe even the bank. Shuttle ports should be available to all cities above outpost rank, as long as they can afford to pay for it. This would encourage cities to be built far from the static cities.

OH! and you know.. why not have the ability- from the house terminal- to add a varity of deck furnature and plants to the balconies and guild hall roof tops. We could toggel them on and have a selection in a simular way that merchants currently can toggle through signs that are added to a building.
