Thread: Militia member unable to place a structure in a city

Ok, I'm on the militia and when I went to build a guild hall for our city, it said I needed to get zoning rights from a militia member or the mayor. Well, I'm on the militia but was unable to grant myself zoning rights. In the end, I had to give zoning rights to my alt so he could build the structure.
My questions are: Why can I give someone else zoning rights to build ina player city that I ama militia member ofbut am unable to build a structure myself? Is this working as intended?
Also, I'm sorry if this has been answered before but my search came up with nothing and I didn't see it in the FAQ's

Working as intended. Another militia member has to give you zoning in order for you to build as well.

I think you have ZONING rights and those expire every 24 hours. You have to be next to the City Management Terminal when the Mayor adds you to Militia.

Militia members do not have zoning rights, only the ability to grant zoning rights to others.
If you wish to place a structure, you need to get someone else to give you zoning rights. Only the mayor of a city has the ability to permanently place structures.

Yes, when you are granted zoning rights you have them for 24 hours... however when the mayor make you a militia member, you are on the militia until you are taken off.
I think militia members should have zoning rights... but i'm on the militia and am unable to build anything in my city. I could not grant myself zoning rights. Seems kind've stupid that I can give someone else zoning rights to my city but am unable to grant myself zoning rights.
hrmmmmmmm.... i think something's wrong.

Did your city mayor put you on Militia by the City Management Terminal? Or did he use /GrantZoning ?
