Dunno if this has been posted before but here goes.

We need a /command that allows us to teleport directly to our houses. This will adversly help those of us who live out in the middle of nowhere with the nearest starport being on the other side of the map. To keep it from being exploited you could add a 30 sec timer for it, in which you have to be sitting and not move. Then after the timer you appear on your front doorstep.

I think jedi teleport would be cool. It would take all of their force power and could send em anywhere. It would be cool to just have like 10 jedi show up in battle and gank ya . Well anyways about the house thing, that actually sounds pretty cool. They could make it with that timer and not moving and also like 200M away from any city or something. It'll prolly never happen, but it sounds cool lol.

Uh...why?

Traveling is too fast as it is. And if you want to get there fast, live near a starport...or shuttleport.

Uh no. If you want to live in the middle of nowhere, you should be willing to trudge the distance to get to that isolation.

The maps are only 256 square kilometers...

That's 16 km x 16 km...and then of course you have water and other terrain.

The maps are 16 km x 16 km...that is a very small world.

Well usually all the space around a starport is taken, so you HAVE to live out in the middle of nowhere. Giving us that ability while the town grows and while you wait for a shuttleport would make it alot easier to pay the bills and make your town more accessible for the people that live there. They did this in Asherons Call : Dark Majestyback in the day, it really made lots of sense, and everybody loved it, it also encouragedplayers to buy houses. It would help guildscoordinate and have town meetings.I really don't see what the problem is. The only exploit as far as location goes that i can think of is towns near quest areas, like Krayt Canyon or what not, but perhaps if your town is within 1000m of a quest area then your ability to recall is denied or something of the like.

I don't like the idea. I think travel is already too fast, and that starships and stations should be navigable milieus that one has to dwell on for some duration to get from one planet to another. I think worlds should be much bigger, or that the scale should be interpreted as compressed, i.e., 1KM actually means around 5KM or 10KM in the "real" world (cuz 225-450 mph ain't too shabby for a jet-powered manually-steered speeder).

I agree with blue. Thats part of the fun of living in isolation. I think however, that travel is NOT fast enough. Too fast? Oh man...

Maybe I'm just spoiled. I come from City of Heroes. Comparing a landspeeder to a superspeed-ready hero is sad. A landspeeder averages 1km a minute. Thats about 45mph. My roommate's jeep goes faster than that and it's horrible. You mean to tell me a floating vehicle with 1-3 jet engines cant break that? Oh man...

Anyways, its nice to go back to CoH now and then to get my speed fix. You can get absolutely anywhere in that game within five minutes. Travel time is no fun. I'd rather sped that time actually earning experience.

BUT...so we dont lose the topic, I dont think a tp idea is a good idea. People would start using it as a way to save on travel time. Not that I dont like saving on travel time, but it would not be the point of the command, and hence would become an exploit and get nerfed as soon as we got it.
