Since it's starting to look like our cities will remain polluted with condemned, useless structures and no purge in sight, why not meet in the middle with development and Mayors? What would you all think of the possibility of having a Scheduled Player City Clean up that would allow Mayors and CSR's to work together for a scheduled time to move condemned houses? We know they have the ability to do so. I could see interested Mayors contacting an assigned CSR/DEV single point of contact to reserve a time slot on set aside dates, much like scheduling live event assistance. During this time, the city mayor and the CSR/DEV could work together in identifying and moving condemned structures out of the city limits to places right outside the borders. That way the player gets to keep their house and belongings and the player cities get to reclaim some much needed real estate. Maybe an hour per player city to work with someone who has the power. This could be spaced out over time so not to overburden the CSR/DEV resources. The only thing I could think of happening to a returning player who's condemned structure has been moved would be they zone in at 0,0 on the planet when they log back in. And I don't think that's really an inconvienance compared to what mayors have had to put up with all this time.

Well, it seems like a good idea. If there isn't going to be an automatic purge of structures, a Mayoral ticket to a CSR *requesting* condemned structures to go poof is good. I mean, it does give the Mayor the option to say, "hey, this guy I know is coming back in 3 months, so we're keeping his cantina."

I am in the position of being a "new" mayor soon (current mayor is quitting over the CU), and thus I'd be stuck with 2 cantinas of former players, nevermind that of 45~50 citz, less than 20 ever cast votes, leading me to think that a good number are taking up city space I'd rather use to rearrange things. I'd totally want to be able to request a CSR work with me to identify condemned buildings, and possibly remove them.
