The city rank in order to get listed on the map needs to be dumped. Many lovely little villages have no need to grow any larger yet they offer vendors and services such as mission terminals that many players never find because they can not be listed on the maps.
If someone is industrious enough to create a village, they should be entitled to have that city listed ont he map.

Well... If you look at a map of, say, the U.S., you will only see the most major cities. Sure many of the smaller towns have plenty to offer, but it just isn't practical. This is espiecially true once you get into the map sub-filters. Hit VENDOR, for instance, and the map all but disappears under the flags. What they COULD do is break the planetary map down into sub components that could be enlarged. These smaller maps could show each village and outpost easily without becoming too cluttered, I would think.

OR when you zoom into an area the villages show. They could be in tiny writing that only shoes on a zoom in

both the above are super ideas, would bring more of a larger world feeling to the map
