Why do mayor's insist on cluttering the shuttleport area's with Trainers? It just gives it a clutter feel and very ugly. Why not spread them out systematically thoughout your city to encourage ppl to roam around more.

Why do mayor's not put up more harder to find trainers, instead of the usual trainers that you can find in any city?

It seems most specializations are broke or really aren't worth using.Like Improved Job Market. Not many people run missions for money anymore, so what is the point of having it? Seems only ones that are worth having are those that help crafters out. And crafters are becoming rarer to find.

Why do mayor's think nobody comes to their city if the citizens are coming there on a regular basis? If you want tourism, it would seem to me you would promote it more instead of telling your citizens they should leave if they dont spend more time there.

I think there might be one city on each planet that is worth its size and tourism. Most cities i am surprised they even exist with how alot of mayor's run them.

its the "ghost town syndrome" a rare and deadly syndrome that occurs in polotitans, it causes there player city to become laggy with few people, have uncheked vendors and discourage players from ever visiting.....

on a serious note, most people place the trainers that people want to see and all in the same area, so players can easily find htem.

In the origonal design of Vodo-Siosk, Dantooine I used what I called Mainstreet. From the front Entrance of the City hall all the way to our level 4 border we created an area where everybody agreed not to build. At the oppisit end of the street we placed the Shuttleport. With shops lining the border. In the interrior of the city I placed Gardens. It worked very well People walked up and down the street.

Also I find that Trainer/Gardens work very well. Take a Garden such as Endorianhuts and place your trainers in them.

It's a pain to search for shops when they're scattered throughout a city which is why most people don't bother to search the whole city. A similiar thing happens with trainers. It's best to centralize shops or at least have a market square or market area of town.

It's only sensible to place 'things' of interest in the same area. It's a little bit like r/l. Why are there so many shops in a mall? Why not spread the shops all over the country? Convenience. It's practical. Because most people don't want to spend their precious time wandering around looking for something if it's not necessary.

Too many people whine when you have them anywhere but where they can immediately find them. Sanctuary has the trainers in a park across the main square from the shuttle and next to the cantina, but I cannot tell you the number of people I had ask me where a certain trainer was if it wasn't blatantly obvious when it was placed.

On Wanderhome, Datooine we had a great city called "Honour's Keep". It has since ceased to exist because the membership chose to run for WoW.

But we too, employed the idea of a "main street" design to the city. Only with city hall and a "mall" on one side, the cantina, and shuttleport on the other. We even had a theatre (a most underused player building). It worked well placing gardens, the bank, and small tents down main street. Some of our most active players either put up a tent, a shop/small house, or a vendor in our PA Hall(mall). This worked well with over 70 players for a good time. Folks would shuttle in, shop, train, and leave happy!

So, now begs the question. What about the trainers? We placed some trainers in obvious places like the cantina, or the mall. But a few others, like the terminals, we placed on the roof of our PA hall. Made it interesting to find sometimes, but added flavor to our once great city!

So, yes, it is true that most mayors vote for the mundane placement of trainers and terminals. But we should strive to make each player city as unique as the nose on our faces. Variety, is after all, the spice of life!

Trainers are a city service offering and not a city decoration, so you shouldn't make it unduly hard to find them if you are trying to use them to attract visitors to the town.

I'm bad because it's fun.

And I'll move the trainers out among the merchant tent square if that will make you happy.

Trainers are located in my city to be found easily since this is what "works". I've found most people do not want to travel around searching for things - convenience is what it's all about. If i want to "look" at someones city i'll take the time to travel around looking but by no means am i going to search for that cities available services. Most mayors create the "commerce area" of their cities with the trainers all in this area to provide quick services to our fellow gamers.
