Thread: a rather Vain Idea

ok I posted this in the item and loot forum but it kinda falls in this catagory too soooo . . . . .


what I want is an everchanging (depending on how often I see an ID) portrait of my toon I can hang up in my house.

Self-portraits would be rather cool. Maybe have an image designer make an image schematic for you, and then you take that to an architect to make the actual portrait. Would be a single-use scematic.

I had this idea too. Another idea I had is getting "permission" for a statue of yourself as a reward for some great achievement, like a really impressive faction achievement, etc.


There are possibly some issues of lag, especially with the statues. Customizedobjects causea lot more lag thanstock objects, and player toons are the most customized objects around. Other objects that borrow some customization from player toons will generate a lot of lag too, but not necessarily as much as the actual toons.

Sounds like a lot of work to tie your facial graphic to another object in-game.

best thing to do is have a player city and be mayor of it, also be the guild leader. make sure you have administration to ALL buildings and EVERYWHERE possible you put pictures in EVERY BUILDING of yourself. then send a mass mail out and say "wow you guys must really like me!"

I don't know if it would be linking the facial graphic, or cloning the facial graphic at the time the image is made. It depends on if you want the image to reflect any changes to the toon or represent the toon at the time the image was made.


I agree that it could be a lot of work, and would certainly increase lag potential, because the data set required to render the image would require transmission bandwidth and could not be client-side resident. Nonetheless, it would be cool, if only for a little while.
