Thread: New mayor of a 2-month-old city.
well i can give you some tips.
1.Try to become master politican right away if you havent already
2.Try and keep taxes low, more taxes= less people
3.Try and aim for a shuttle port, parking garage and trainers those are large money making and helps keep your city up
4.Remeber watch on the city maintance, this can be viewed at the city terminal.
5.If your city not making enough money, then try getting business into your city (should be your top objective), to get business find people that are willing to set up vendors in your city. When this occurs you can place a vendor tax meaning to keep vendors running they must pay a few credits towards your city. Another way is creating cantina events that will raise money aka parties or city donations
6.Try and aim for a city profession aka what you want your city field to be, this is done by what is placed and made in the city. So your city can become a medical center giving all medical professions + on their stats when in the city or become a merchant city and give +stats on crafting professions. This will help gain more attention to the city and more reasons for your people to stay.
7.If you dont have a guild create one for your city. This will help gain residence in the city and keep the city up and not into rumble. If your in a guild then try and keep all guildies in the city by giving them free small houses to place in the city
8. Remeber to keep aleast the required amount of people living in the city so you keep your city level. If you lose a level you lose items that are required for that level for example shuttle ports need to be in a high level city so if you lose people and 24 hours have expired you will lose a level depending on how much left and you may lose structues aka shuttle port.
9.Have zoning rights on. This will keep people from placing houses randomly in your city and also keeps those people that are just jerks from ruining your city.
10.Give milita to only people you can trust aka guild members are the best bet
11.Remeber to have all people living in the city or going to to declare residence so that the city will gain level next server restart.
12. Place main structures infront of your city hall because this will gain easy access to everything here is one lay out
-have trainers outside infront of the city hall
-have shuttle port infront of trainers
-have tents for merchantes next the shuttle port
-have mission terminals at the shuttleport
-have cantina straight ahead from the shuttleport
-have medical center next the cantina
-have cloning center next to medical center
-have garage close to shuttle port
13.Remeber NOT to place trainers inside or on the steps of the city hall due to there is a bug where trainers will go through the floor and get stuck and you will not able to get them. This is also for the terminals so just keep those 2 away from the city hall
14.You can place lights and statues to make the city look nice but remeber it costs more maintance funds from your city hall maintance funds. Best to keep all decorations out for the last part
15.If your city is all set up and you have money already in there then you can set back and enjoy your life but keep looking for more people to join your city while your out hunting 
16.You will gain xp for your politican profession every few hours or mins or after server restarts (not sure). You will gain xp depending on your city level ,whats out in the city and how many people are in the city(houses not live players that jump around sings etc)
17.If you got an alt or someone that goes afk and is a musician or a dancing profession then tell him/her to place their character in the cantina and to run macros for afk dancing. This get people visiting your city more to get inspiration buffs before they hunt.
18.If your city is not on a planet that usally have hunting parties (lok,dath etc) then you might have trouble getting people to visit which will slow down money gaining for your city. But you can fix that by telling players about your city and shops inside it.
19. Elections are every 2 to 3 weeks i believe. This nothing to worry about, only people that can vote are people living in your city.
