Don't know about the rest of the servers, but even Talus and Rori are starting to look like concrete planets on Eclipse. And want to catch some nice scenery on Dantooine? Forget about it! Is there ever going to be a cap on cities ona planet? Does one already exist? I mean, half a year ago there were three cities with shuttleports on Talus on Eclipse, now it seems liek another is popping up every week. And there are at least a dozen cities that havent shown up on the planetary map yet- being a Talus "native", it kind of pains me to visit the spot where I buil my very first little house on Talus in the mountainsand finding a bustling metropilis just on the foot of the range.

yes the sad thing is people want to have complete power over a city, and they want it the easy way. i dont understand why people cant just run for mayor in a already large city by getting everyone to love them...it really isnt that hard people are dumb.

No one actually owns any property in SWG. You are not entitled to that area that your first house was at. You only control what your deeds are set down on. If you didn't want others to be there, make your own outpost.

Because most cities are funded by the mayor, so they get very territorial. Also it is difficult to break into an existing city and mold it to how you want it, so most people opt to just start their own city. And you don't have a right to rain on other people's gaming experience, simply because you want the wild to stay completely wild just for you.

Unfortunately, many of the cities are ghost towns or artificially inflated population towns with lot trades and citizens with multiple citizenships. I actually deleted my beloved city on Rori because I could not get rid of the houses where players had quit the game or still had citizenships in other cities and no house in our city, yet would not take the time to come to our terminal and denounce their citizenship. The city had an inflated citizenship and would have dropped to an outpost IF they ever fixed these problems.

I have nine accounts and with my friend we started the city as an outpost, then let a guild in (most all of them have since quit playing) and allowed some newbies to drop houses (all quit playing). So we ended up paying for a level 3 city that was crammed full of houses in need of maitenance owned by players who no longer played. I finally had no choice but to pull up city hall and set up a city in a new location.

Gloria, Lowca: Wanderhome & Test Center
9 accounts, 18 characters, ok this is a tad nutso
Lowca, LIBERTYLAND PARK on Rori, our fun city geared to role playing fun
take the shuttle, racetrack, Wildlife museum, Romance Inn, pub, cafe,
Droid Factory, Whacky Hospital...much more
Come visit, bring friends and roleplay. Pull up your overhead map, each vendor marks a site for adventure and fun.

I have to say this is something i really really agree with. I remember about 2 years ago when i was playing, cities weren't alooud on most planets, only Naboo/Corellia/Tatooine and some others. But Dantooine/Lok etc weren't inhabitle, well mostly. And we were promised by the dev's that cities would be capped toif i remember, five per planet. And i believe that should happen. The price to maintain a city should be Hiked up to unbelievable prices, not everyone should be allowed to start one.

- It's time the devs end the bitter fighting by giving the community a Non Jedi server. We have a few servers with TINY populations that could be changed to this ruleset. I support this idea because it punishes noone. - You can support it too. Click Here!

I agree and disagree (and this is coming from someone who badly wants their own city on Naboo).

I think that the "main" planets, like Naboo, Tatooine, and Corellia have their caps set up properly (20 player cities per planet, only 10 shuttleports).

However, my issue comes with with the other habitable planets, like Rori, Talus, Dantooine, and Lok. The player city caps on those planets are absurd! I remember when I used to go to Dantooine before it was habitable. It was a rather beautiful planet, and very nice to walk through. Now Dantooine (on Eclipse) is a horrid place! There are tons and tons of player cities. Then there are also tons of player houses circling the outposts too, especially the Mining Outpost. It is actually rather sickening.

I also don't really understand why they make Lok and Dantooine habitable. They may as well have gone out and allowed Yavin and Endor to be habitable too, since it never really made any sense at all that at least Yavin isn't habitable, yet Dantooine is (before the CU Yavin was way more "noob" friendly than Dantooine).

on the note about people running for mayor in a already established city: alot of mayors are jerks. you coud join a city and the mayor there will be really nice, then once he notices you have the politician skill he threatens you, and dont even try running cause him and the militia will kick you out.

when a player starts a city or when a new mayor is elected there should be a BIG note saying that it is a democrasy and anyone can run if they want to.

It IS currently rather expensive to maintain a city. And by what measure do you propose to restrict who can start a city?

If you're a citizen of the said town, you cannot be citybanned so the mayor and militia can't kick you out or ban you.

I am not saying I want to own it, butreally unless you go to Eclipse or Ahazi or Bri how can youknow how it is?Every where I ride there is a city it seems. Talus and Rori are the last places now, no one ever built there till there was no room on other planets. It was like a little resort planet to get away from, and as a ranger I enjoyed it immensely. And Dantooine, kiss it goodbye, there is not a single spot where your overhead map hasn't got a player house on it on the planet.
