Hi, i'm the mayor of a city on bloodfin, and i have a great issue for your opinion.

My city has the "Grant Zone" option enabled, so everyone who wants to join, must have my consent.

The issue is regarding a sort of "bug" used by somepeople to join our city without the consent of anybody, with the only purpose to ruin thesight of our city and to limit the capacity of the city.

They placed houses all'around the limits of the city, and when the city growt, they entered the city.

The problem is that i have no powers to kick them out of the city.

I have reported the situation to CSR and they answered me to resolve the situation between the parties (obviously it is not possible).

How can i carry out this issue? Everyone has had an issue like that?

Try talking with the people who have done this and see if you can come to a resolution. It may require some give and take (and possibly some bribery), but it may be possible to work out a solution for them to be in the city but in a location that is acceptable to you.

Do you know for a fact that those houses were placed there in an effort to "ruin" your city? Sometimes we all assume the worst in a situation when it's really not as bad as we might think. Calm and rational discussions are often all that is needed to make everyone happy.

Turn on the Politician charm and work at negotiating a peace. They had the right to place those houses there, and you have the desire for a successful city. There's probably a middle ground there somewhere if you can find it.

Well, unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done about those particular houses. Continue to report any offensive or harassing naming issues as well as reporting any behaviors that fall into that category, too. Since the housing was placed fairly (the city radius did not include that area so it was technically fair game), there isn't anything CSRs can do about that particular issue. That doesn't mean you have to put up with offensive behavior, though.

If they won't listen and continue to try and get to you and your guild....ignore them. It's a lot easier to say than it is to actually do, but that is the single most effective way to deal with immature people who think it's fun to cause trouble for others. If you don't give them the satisfaction of a response, eventually they will get bored and go away. Act as if what they are doing is of no concern and don't sink to their level, and you've taken the fun out of it for them.

I would recommend getting your citizens to actively participate in your city's elections; make sure you are registered ASAP every election cycle and get your citizens to stop in and vote really quick. Don't utilize the militia function (to prevent accidental /grantzoningrights) and screen any new citizens carefully. You can't /cityban citizens, but you can have citizens added to privately-owned structures by an admin of that structure.

Hang in there. I'm sure it's frustrating, but if you're diligent they shouldn't be able to cause much more damage.

The house's names are changed because we reported them to CSR and they changed the insigna

It is a nonsense. You set the grant zone option for the placement of houses, when anyone can be citizen placing his house at the limit and waiting the growth

Well, when people placed their houses there it was not "city property" therefore they get to stay. It is an inconvenience I know, but it is how things work.

If you expect them to make it like with NPC cities and you have to be "such and such" distance out from the city to build, then where would the people who do not have a city to call home build? I know I have run into issues even on a planet such as talus where you can not ploace a new city in some prime spots because some people were less-than stellar on their decision for a town location. The best option (as was said before) turn on your politician charm and try to get at least some of them to move.

A real issue that needs to be resolved is a politician needs to be able to enter any building within the city and see who owns it to send a mail out asking them to move it if need be.

And No I do not mean the politician has admin or anything, just automatically on the entry list.

Edit: Fixed spelling
