I can use my /move up or down comand any more. I just got back from being gone for two weeks and now I can't use them at all. Is anyone else having this problem?

I haven't had any troubles with it...and I've spent all week decorating. I'm sure you are...but you are using /move up 50 and so on right? If it's not working for you I'd submit a ticket with CSR. And I am SO sorry for you if you are back to moving things the slow way

lol, thanks for the suggestion.
For some reason it is only one toon on my account. Don't know if it's a server thing, or if my two houses are in a weird place that's bugging it or what.

Not a problem for me either - and I also spent a lot of time decorating lately...

Setting up a set of "furniture moving" macros is something that really helped move furniture around for me:
•Move your tool bar to one of the layers you don't use a lot. (Toolbar level #3 or 4 is convenient).
•Press ctrl-A to pull up your “Abilities” window
•Select the “Macro” tab
•Press the “New macro Button
•In the box where it says, “Macro Text”, add your movement. For example:
•Move your tool bar to one of the layers you don't use a lot. (Toolbar level #3 or 4 is convenient).
•Press ctrl-A to pull up your “Abilities” window
•Select the “Macro” tab
•Press the “New macro Button
•In the box where it says, “Macro Text”, add your movement. For example:
(Make a button for each of these)
/rotatefurniture left 45
/rotatefurniture left 90
/rotatefurniture left 180
/move forward 10
/move back 10
/move forward 5
/move back 5
/move forward 1
/move back 1
/movefurniture up 10
/movefurniture down 10
/movefurniture up 5
/movefurniture down 5
/movefurniture up 1
/movefurniture down 1
•Name it in the name window.
•Pick an icon and add it to the list.
•Then drag the icon to the tool bar and moving things become much easier by using the customized buttons you just made.
Hope this helps.

It doesn't if you're in the Y-8 interior...

Two issues really. One - You can't move things any farther "down" than their initial drop-height. Two - Make sure there aren't any "upholstered chairs" in the vicinity. Have a friendly architect take them on trade if you've got some, and recraft them with different names. The "up" in "upholstered" has been an infuriating issue with movement commands in the past, as the targeting system thinks you're trying to move the chair, not what you have targeted.

To get around the "upholstered chair" problem (actually, caused by anything within target range starting with "up"), use this command:
/move up up ##
My theory is that there's some legacy code that was supposed to allow "/move {item name} {direction} {amount}" syntax. If you're trying to use a direction (up, down, back, forward) but an item has a name that starts with the direction value, the command throws a syntax error because it thinks you gave the item name and left out the direction.
Does anyone know if entering the direction twicehas any effect on Y8 decoration?

It doesn't help, unfortunately. I thought it might because there is an "Upper Turret" in the interior, but it doesn't work even with your syntax. And the same error is reported when you try to move it down too, and there's nothing that starts with "do" inside the ship.
