Thread: Can mayors delete houses ?

Hi me and a m8 have just started up a city but there are loads of empty houses near it taking up much needed space they are all condemed by the empire and i was wondering if a mayor has the ability to remove or delete those houses from the city ?

I don't believe that you can delete these houses. If there is a way to do so i would love to know because i have the same problem ,but from what it seems you cannot delete them because they do not belong to you and you would also be destroying items inside the house. I don't think the DEV'S would support that to much. Perhaps you could file a complaint about them or just wait til they delete all inactive houses.

ok that is really annoying since i know the dude dosent play the bumface how long does a house take to blow up after being condemned by the empire ?

Mayors can not *delete* houses.. this would leave way too much potential for griefing. However, condemned structures can take quite a while to finally "blow up" due to withdrawing out of the citizens bank. Character Purge will *hopefully* be coming soon so just hold out. Trust me, being a new mayor you should be able to hold out... many of us have been waiting for houses to poof for a very, very long time.

Well... there's a house near my city whose owner left the game in November of 2003, and it's still there.

They should add a command to allow a mayor to destroy a building as they are annoy and wreck city plannings. Don't get me wrong it's nasty but prehaps the dev's can have a way that all the items inside are transfered to like a safety depoist for the players to pick up.
They need to do something as cities get ruined by those tructures that no-body cares about.

I also wish we could delete the houses...would be rather nice to re-arrange my city layout without running into structures that the owner left the game leaving them.
