Thread: Decorating question...

I am attempting to furnish a house and since I'm not very familiar with the types of furniture out there, I thought I would ask here.

I was thinking of using some items as shelving, could anyone give me suggestions as to what might work? I was thinking of using what I thought was called a marble table (it looks like a white coffee table) but it seems a little bulky to have elevated along a wall. Does anyone have any other ideas or is there a website somewhere out there that shows all the different types of furniture so that I can maybe come up with some ideas on my own?

Thanks!

if you stack 4-5 glass top curved cafe tables that makes very nice shelves

also it depnds on the type of shelving you want, because I have found that you can use some
Small Table's on top of one another and make great corner shelfs if you do it so that the bottom one sticks out a lil more than the next one and so on. Also if you are wanting free stanind shelfs on the wall, the..umm.. i think they are called modern tables... or something like that, they are the ones that look like this kinda... lol thats the best way i know how to describe it, but it has the glass top and the curved base

Wow! You guys are great! Thank you so much for all the ideas and replies. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what look I'm trying to achieve, so having all these different perspectives really helps.

Any other ideas that anyone wants to throw out about decorating besides the shelf ideas are welcome also!

If you want a coffee maker its simple, get a muon gold and put it on a table, then get a glass cup from your local artisan (or make one yourself) and put it in the muon gold, if you did it right it should look like the cup's in a sort of coffee maker. If you wan't you can add other things on to make it look cool

I, being a home decorater, usually uses bookcases for shelving. Howver, you can stack modrn end tables on top of eachother, or other kinds of end tables on top of each other.
