Thread: Getting Annoyed Placing a Guild Hall

I've tried all sorts. Not only is it near impossible to find space for the damn thing in Player cities, but when I find a space big enough, the 'blueprint' is always red and doesn't let me place it. Also, if I try just barren land (no city) and I can see plenty of OTHER houses, I can't place it. I'm assuming I can only place it where the the ground isn't 'yellow' but I've tried placing it on flat versions of ground that areyellow and non-yellow.

It's the only building I have, so I know it's not a lots problem.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong??

You are sure you are using the correct guildhall for the planet you are trying to place on?

It's a generic one. I've tried Corellia and Naboo.

Hhmm - seems you are doing everything correctly... The ground has to be all "grey" (shape of your house would be green)- you can't place on "yellow" ground, shape of your house would be red...

Which server are you on?

It has to be so that theground does not look yellow to you - when you move the house over the ground it will need to highlight green... If you want to I could make a character on Starsider and maybe we can figure out then what the problem is...

Could it be lairs? They "yellow out" an area.

There was one lair, so I destroyed it. It seemed to make no difference.

Thanks for the offer Pie, but I can't get online at work. I'll give things another try later tonight.

PA Halls can be pretty picky over the terrain it will place on. Even a slight incline or ditch can prevent you from placing it. The smaller the structure, the less picky it is about the terrain.

If an area shows yellow it's a temporary change to the landscape that prevents placing, generally a lair. If the terrain is normal underneath, but it shows red where the outline of your structure is, there's something about the terrain that will not let you place there.

yeah the larger the structure the more picky it will be, so Im sure the most particular would be the medium naboo?

On a more serious note, "yellow" ground is unbuildable ground, whether for terrain or no-build-zone or lairs, so you cannot overlap even a single square of it.
