Thread: Showing Off the Ranger Abode
(my bandwidth might die at some point)
It's a large generic house, iirc.
When you first walk in
First room to your left
Following into the RIS room, with different angles and perspective.
My Imperial room, full of propaganda and eye candy.
Over to the side room
The main room from a few views. The chandelier above and the trophies below. Along with the close up on the other side.
The main room from the other direction, and the other. A little shot at the camo kit/sixpack on the table.
My bedroom along with the "bed" inside my tent.
To the other side of the house is the guest room, fairly bare. A friend of mine chilling in the room outside it.
Heh, well that's all of it. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated, just figured I'd see what kind of looks it gets, since it was my first large house attempt.
my only advice would be to go easy on the lights, too many and the room becomes waaay too bright
I really liked the RIS and Imp rooms. They're both simplistic in design but complementory to the static structure of the room.
The chandelier was very well done aswell.
I'm personaly not big on the tents, though I did enjoy the fact that it acts as a bed in your bedroom.
Very well done.
Seems as though the imp and ris room work along a line of symmetry more so than the other rooms, which may be why they end up looking better. Less clutter, so to speak.
I had that problem early on. The main room is actually lit by only one mystical orb. There used to be a lot of little lights, but the orb gave it better lighting. For the most part, using candles seemed to help that problem, but there are a few places where I used too bright a light, I gather.
Might just throw out these lamps I have in a few places and plop down some more candles instead. They give better lighting in any case.

I'm not impressed.........
me neither. none of what you did is impressive. the chandelere was a nice touch but everything else was....easy. there isnt ALOT of work done either. mind you you should be happy with it but i would have done alot more.
constructive criticism would be appropriate here guys. he's looking for positive feedback and suggestions, not whether he's impressed you or not.
It's a good first try. Large houses arn't easy. One thing I do if i need inspiration is just hit the bazaar and look at all the items. There's tons of things in game, that we all usually forget about, that has the potential to be used as a cool decoration. I also keep tweeking and adding and changing my own houses. It's always a work in progress ![]()
Just a first attempt, negative feedback is fine so long as you're telling me something to fix, but I know it isn't anything groundbreaking. It's mediocre, but it isn't crap, so I got what I wanted out of a first try.
Interesting story behind those 3 TIE suits. I had a bug in Inquisition that made me unable to complete my tier 3 mission, so I had to redo the whole tree again. Then the bug repeated, so I tried out another squadron and it has been running smooth so far. But each time I get a TIE suit to remind me of the bug.. heh.
