Paint/Texture kits is a good idea, just afraid that people will start changing their houses in town to all kinds of colors and suddenly nothing matches anymore. Maybe mayors could "lock down" what textures that could be used in their town?

When I was walking through Bestine the other day I noticed that one of the building is actually a generic PA hall, but with Tatooine style house texture on it. Now, normally in our town we have a ban on generic houses, because they do not fit in and do not give a very "tattooineish" feeling, but this gave me an idea. What if generic houses keep their form, but get their textures from the planet they are on. Sandy on Lok and Tatooine, Nabooish on Naboo and Rori, Generic on Dantooine, Corellia and Talus. That would make the cities more uniform on some worlds and give citizens more home styles to choose from without runing the feeling of the town.

Yes, IMHO the more customization a player can do to there items, whatever they may be. The more player satisfaction.
I don't want a house that looks the same as everyone else's. Why can't I have a yellow CDEF rifle?
I was a bit tired coming home from Bestine the other night. I opened the door of my house and went inside. Then something hit me, "what the fluck happened to my house those damn CSR's are playing tricks on my again!" Oh wait, this isn't my house it just looks like it from the outside cause all the houses in my town look the same from the outside.

I think all houses should have three main textures to choose from:
Pristine
Used
Worn out (condemed)
This would give the main look of the house, if the windows are all in good shape, if there are any holes in the wall etc etc. Then we should be able to choose from a few diffrent colors that fit into the planets main colorscheme that the house is places on, at least a few diffrent sand/stone hues on tatooine, a few diffrent nice colors on Naboo and several new colors on Corellia to lessen the suicide frequence there (grey is bad, m'kay?)
That would make me happy...

Good ideas. I like the idea of customizing the outside of my house a lot... lets just hope a Dev sees this and give the Art-team a little time to try it out.

SWG has a great art-team, it would be great if they were given some weeks to work on additional textures and colors for homes in the game. We can only hope I guess...
