I just want to know who designed the layouts for the houses. Almost every house has a long hallway when you go through the door. There is one house upon entering the house your faced with stairs on the left and stairs on the right and a wall in front of you.
My favourite house is the medium naboo with the circular room even that has a hallway you have to go through.

I live in a split entry house where you walk into a set of stairs going up and a set of stairs going down, but you can see right into the living room. The houses in SWG are not as bad as you think, you should see some of the crazy designs of RL houses they have out there, especially the older ones. My job has a lot to do with real estate, so I see different houses all the time.
But also I think they have the hallway thing at the front door for the same reason as all the starports and NPC buildings... so you don't walk by the door and use up resources with your computer rendering the outside graphics. Ever notice how once you enter a building and can no longer see the outside, your framerate increases dramatically and lag decreases.

well at least there seems to be some method to their madness.
I believe you about all the crazy real life houses, but when the game has a totally of what 20 houses and almost everyone of them is screwy.
Maybe I just me but I've never notices an lag.

As a real life Architect, I would be glad to offer SOE some sketches of different house layouts. I've always thought that the small corellians didn't make much sense with those odd sized rooms with only one path to get from one to the next. Not that you need a million doors, but those little houses could be so cool with a large main room and smaller rooms off one side. Make it feel likea cabin or a studio apartment.
A lot of space is wasted with that L shaped hallway going to the back of the building before you even get into a room.

call me cynical but I suspect the hallways are there to give the game time to load the actual objects before making it into the main room
just a thought

i would have to say that the tatooine small house is the best. most like a normal house. the generic planet house certainly is weird..

Actually, in New Orleans, it's pretty common to see houses with each room leading into the next. The rooms are all in a straight line, though, with no hallways.
I'd also like to mention that it took about 15 tries to get this message typed, apparently because the name of the style is prohibited by the filters. In case you're wondering, it's synonymous with a hastily-arranged wedding enforced by the bride's father.
