I would like some feedback on this, and it has probably been covered before and suggested in the past as well, but I wanted to add my slant. Too many cities exist that are exclusive to one faction or the other........Tatooine is a good example. We have been trying to start a city for about 5 months on Tat now with no luck, with the intention of creating a mulitfaction city to match our guild.
I would like to see an increase in the cities allowed, or perhaps some type of incentive to create a multifactional city. My idea was a no-pvp zone in a city option, where PVP could be disabled in city limits. This would be only for a multifactional city of course, and would encourage those that do not desire to PVP to move there.
Thoughts and comments welcome.

Most cities are created for and by guilds. If your guild isn't large enough to create a city, then you're kind of out of luck.
That's why you see so many people in the starports offering a swoop and a small house to move to their city. If you'd like to build a city, and your guild is too small, I'd try that.

I think they're trying to start a city ON TATOOINE, and it's full.

That is exactly it...We take in alot of newbs in our guild, and we have a good amount of people in it. All of our members do not PVP. We have all kinds, Imp, Reb, Nuet, Covert and Overt. We have the money, the buildings, the members to boot up to 40+ residents....but no slot. We have tried to simply join another city, but haven't found a single one that will accept all types on Tat, and that is where we want to be.
Hence the thread.

imo I think the city caps are already at a very fair number. Alot of the cities that have been built up to Ranks 4 and 5 are long time Player Cities that still have life in them (at least on my server). Multi-Faction cities are a pain - i know many that have tried to co-exist and always run into some sort of problem. I know it's disheartening that you can't place a city on the planet you want, but trust me, DO NOT throw out the possibilities of the Secondary Planets like Dantooine, Rori, or Lok. Dantooine is a great planet for leveling on, with alot of great workable land.

No way, there already tons of towns, don’t need more. If you can’t build one, then join one, make it bigger and better that ok, why to have 100 villages if you can have 10 cities?

The city caps are there to control lag on each planet.
The advent of cities were designed because
1) certain areas of planets we becoming laggy because of uncontrolled player structures. It allows them to spread teh players
2) Guilds were clustering together
The caps were made to control lag also. They are a needed evil
