Finally. The addition of the player mission perks or whatever you call them are a godsend.
Its about time you make it so that you dont have to pick up levels of merchant in order to run a game event. I only wish that everyone were able to own 2-3 actors permanantly, to help player cities have their own story that is in place for visitors. I also hope that in addition to controlling the species, dress, words, and emotes, that we can have SOME degree of control over the appearance, even if its just being able to choose what body type (tall, short, medium, wide, skinny, medium). I know with the vendors, it was always a problem because you would always get a fat vendor with strange colors, like green hair.
I love the treasure chests and the droids and the locations. My only grip is that the crashed starships are lame. Its just a small fire on an otherwise mint starship. I was really hoping for a more wrecked look to them. Itd also be nice to have some freighters in the mix, to help with RP events.
Another boon was the lot decreases and item increases and the additional decorative items. This is really helping out with making the cities look a little different from each other. I only wish that we could have a bit of the following:
1.) A way to decorate your yard. Just the land that is considered a part of your house lot. Itd be nice to have an option to fence it in, or add plants, etc.
2.) A new civic structure called an apartment building. This would be a building like the city hall in size, and would allow maybe 10-20 people to own an apartment inside the building, for fewer lots and for a cheaper maintenance. This would make the cities feel a bit more urban, as opposed to everything looking so very suburban. This would also be a boon to cities that are built in limited space areas (with sloping land that wont allow house construction, or built near water or a planet edge) This would let some of those places meet their recruitment quotas for advancement.
3.) More house styles. And please, give us some better floorplans that are more realistic. The current houses are more like mazes than housing, especially the larger ones. Ive never seen houses laid out as confusingly as the ones we have to place, and also, how about adding in some refreshers, eh?
4.) More City structures/layouts: I love the player cantina and hospital and cloning center, but would it be possible to get a few variants of these structures? Its kind of boring for every city to have the same layouts for the buildings. Even if every city structure just had 3 layouts, thatd be real helpful. Also, give us more areas to hang out and decorate. A player garage that you can actually enter and use like a tool shop or whatever for city crafting stations would be great. Maybe a resturant layout, or a player casino, or the ability to place one of the ships as a structure. So that you can just have a landing space as your housing lot, and you can live on a crashed starship. A post office would be nice, a place for people to exchange items in a planned matter without having to actually find each other online at the same time. Id also love a bank variant that is actually indoors, and decoratable.
5.) Roads: There needs to be a way for the mayor to pave roads. You can have several road styles, from dirt to gravel to permacrete. I know that changing the terrain is a technical issue, but this is really something that needs to be done to change player cities from being something totally random to feeling like a city. Itd also be nice if when the city reached a certain level (the top level probably) the server automatically constructed a road to the nearest NPC city. IMO, speeder vehicles should get some kind of speed bonus when traveling on a road.
6.) Smaller footprints: some of the houses and decorative items have huge footprints (bank, anyone?) that is just a real blight on the city. These things should have MUCH smaller footprints to allow for mayors to really make city design more of an art.
7.) city walls: Controlled points of access are crucial to having a city that has a history as a fort. All the NPC cities have them, we need them too. Controlling points of access to the city is also a must for PVP events set up by cities. This adds a more tactical element to assaulting such a city.
