im reffering to PA Halls or big houses...or even medium ones. we should be able to put items to decorate since its more or less IN the building. i know its not as stressing as the other issues but i thought i would bring it up.

The Devs stated they were working on a system that would let us do just this. Unfortunatly this statement was made when they first announced the Smuggler revamp so the odds of ever seeing this stuff in our lifetime are slim to none

Politicians can do it. However, anyone should be able to.
Misleading. Politicians can place city items (lightpost) not furniture.

As I've said before in one of these threads, houses should have a small area around them for decorating. Kind of like a yard. This area would allow for decorations as if you were inside the structure. Some have argued this wouldn't be possible since these items would need to load (much like when you walk INTO a structure). My solution for that would be to not load the items unless you actually enter the structure area and not when you happen to pass it on your swoop.
Example:
A Naboo Theatre would look exactly the same to anyone poassing by, but if you enter the boundaries of the theatre structure (the seating area, which is considered OUTSIDE) items decorating the stage would load, giving a more custom feel to the stage and making it a bit more personal and unique. I would love to be able to perform weddings on the theatre stage and decorate the stage area with appropriate wedding-stye decorations.
/soapbox :The same can be done for houses, guild halls, etc. Why have an open roof on the guild hall if you cannot place tables and chairs on it (again, just an example)??
Ok, I'll climb off the soapbox now. I hope the devs seriously look into this as it would greatly enhance structures that have little customization.

The problem with furniture is lag... especially yard furniture, as the exteriors of all houses in range are rendered as you near them. on PA's and Med. Tats (this one i know for sure there may be others) The solution would be to make it a 'room' in the house with invisible walls instead of being outside. Those from the outside would see the default exterior without contributing to the lag as your furniture would not be rendered unledd they were inside.

Perhaps houses could be altered to have "Built in" furniture that would be attached to it, like a table and some chais up top to seat people. Maybe from the structure terminal you would have a list of Decoration types for the outside part of the structure. Like on a guildhall you could have a "Cafe Style" which would place several tables, a bar and maybe some umbrellas or something. Or you could have "Arena" style where it would place like crossed axes on the walls, weapons on the walls, torches in the corners and mats in the center for fighting. These would actually be "part" of the structure, and it when you changed the style it would be like having a Naboo house style 1 or 2, just with different decoration on top- It wouldn't need to load. Kind of like decoration in starports, its just "always there", it doesn't load when you walk into it.
