As it happens, you're both ranting a bit. I'm going to have to do some work because of this change, since I was given 50 spaces in-house, but lost 100. I was a BE, so know about the storage issues for that profession ... I had a hopper full of resources for crafting, and some (probably near 50) leftover DNA. I expect my DNA supply was on the light side for somebody who did pets at all...

It was not a nerf, infact, it originally was the way it is now. What happened was bug jumped into the game and caused it to no longer count against the house.
The big problem is the more items people have stored uses up the database memory. The system is only so big and so they have to put a limit somewhere. Heck, you could pick up merchant if you want, but they also been restricted to only a certain level of space too.
There is way to many people who are pack rats and keep ever bloody thing they ever collect in the game. I am not at all simpethetic to your rants on the issue. Its beenconstatly screamed, yelled, and cried over so much befor. Why can't you be happy with the increase they recently gave us instead of cry nerf when they fixed an EXPLOITE in the game. They won't change it so don't even bother ranting. won't happen. And even if they got a bigger database, i don't see an increase happening since it will be used up with new servers that will be created.

Wow, you totally missed my point
Read me again and try to figure out what I'm actually saying (a clue is in the subject line).

This is a rant about the crafting station nerf which highlights contradictions which we are being served.
Everyone I know including myself is really angry about this change. Just speaking myself and the people I know, none of us even considered this to be an exploit. It was a reasonable thing that you'd get extra space for crafting items (which would be consumed in the process of crafting!), it made sense.
The sheer inconvenience of sorting out allocation of items since the publish came in has been ridiculous considering this is just a computer game. It's almost like moving house for real! Where's the fun? Where's the satisfying customer experience?
Despite the changes to lot requirements and item storage limits, thecrafting station nerf has more than counter-acted this. The only positive thing I can find in all this is that the extention to our personal inventories made the moving process rather more tolerable.
Here is the irony, we are being flooded with loot items, loot kits, space loot, veterain rewards. Even more ironic, there's a thread by Garva encouraging people to show off their in-home creations (seen the AT-AT?), don't get me wrong though, I applaude the creativity being encouraged. However, we are being encouraged to gather more and more bits and peices, yet our capacity to store these items has just been decimated.
What are meant to do?
One last thing we should consider is the hypocracy of removing the extra storage space we had available to us. How many merchants do you know who don't have a "storage vendor". Vendors hold far more thana group of craftnig stations ever would.

Just to pick this thread up again...
See what Kalano said there? "Too many people are pack rats". Well that can be said, the point I'm making is that we're being subtley forced to be pack-rats. Namely because of loot-kits and JTL space loot. The latter is really bad, say you're trying to get lvl 8 (or above) equipment reverse engineered on your ship, and a ship has at least 8 components. That means theoretically you could need to store at least 64 items just to get your ship done up. It's an extreme example, but it's definitely a possible one.
Because of everything coming in the form of LOOT LOOT LOOT these days, we are unavoidably cluttered up with stuff we daren't get rid of because we're told we need them. Yet at the same time, we're struggling to store it all on top of what we had already (particularly and most importantly in the case of crafters). That is the mixed message I think we get from the powers that be.

The nerf to the crafting stations has made to classes of citizens.
1). The guy who does not have a merchant profession who is limited to a few hundred slots (assuming he has more than one house).
2). The guy who has a merchant profession who is limited to several thousands slots.
Since the game has an economy (this is not planetside), merchant profession now has the uber-upper hand on item storage and hoarding.
And since only a few parts of the population can now hold on to items, the rest of us who got nerfed will now be at their mercy and be forced to pay higher prices.
And before anyone says it, I am a merchant. I think it is unfair that we have been given this nerf advantage.
