You cant cityban a whole guild.
For houses you have to put them on the ban list with:"guild:insertrandomguildsignhere"

I think there should be a /guildban function. If your city is under attack by an enemy guild, it makes no sense that you'd have to offer them your city services...
IE: that shuttleport, cloning center, cantina, etc are all operated (presumably) by city employees, even if they are droids. Why would they service the enemy?

As stated before you can't really city ban a guild, at least not yet.
I do agree with you that it should be possible.
You could have all your merchants add to their ban list in the manner the other poster stated. This would keep them out. For example on Radiant most of the guilds home have the guild:rlr on the entry list...so everyone can get to a house if need be ( we live on Dantooine and its dangerous sometimes ). On wanderhome I have the guild T-S-C and its 5 guildmemebers banned both by guild and by names....in case they unguild themselves.....they were serious griefers.....in the two malls I have shops in

Yeah it would be great to have the ability to /cityguildban, but who knows if it will really be possible. I know of a few times I wanted to do this, but just had to pick them out 1 at a time.

I think there is a guild ban function. Someone was complaining about a guild changing their name to get inside of buildings to kill them all.

City ban and building ban are different things.
City ban doesn't prevent anyone from entering any private houses, only City hall and cloners are blocked and you can't use the shuttleport.
Building ban a guild works with adding "guild:Short_name_of_the_guild", but it only works on individual buildings.

Yes it will work for entry too.
You'd place the following on entry list:
guild:SAND
( most likely it will show this as guild:sand but it works )
