i think a mayor should have the right to evict people from the city limits. if a person is doing bad business, places a factory, or is a squatterwithin a city's limits the mayor should have the right to condemn buildings.
for instance, what if a person drops a small naboo house right outside a PA hall then leaves the PA in a huff? right now you are stuck w/ that house as an eyesore until it runs out of maintenance. or what if a citizen of a city just refuses to move their structure? u want to place a shuttleport but they dont care.
a mayor should have the ability to evict people and condemn their structure.
i am a 591 day member of SWG and i would really like the devs to add this ability ASAP.

I disagree. What if a mayor, who fancies himself to be some hawt city planner, decides that he wants a shuttleport where you've had your house since a week after launch? Next week, he'll want the shuttleport somewhere else. In the meantime, you've just lost your home to some other player's whim! This would give mayors WAY too much power over other players.
What if the mayor decided he just didn't like you? He could just condemn your house, and refuse to give you the right to rebuild within the city. Just you try and convince me there aren't any out there who would abuse the power this way.
No. Bad Idea.

WITH the proviso that an eviction/condemnation must be either voted on by the city, or agreed on by a CSR. I also would wart to give the person 1 week to empty and/or pull up the house.
In one city I've lived in the government changed hands from one guild to another, in a not entirely amicable way. The city now has a couple cantinas, some vendor huts, and myriad houses, with unknown amounts of maintenance (the guild in question's faction bases have several years on them...) with a refusal to move the buildings , despite the fact that said guild has moved into a new city elsewhere. there is also a cantina there that's been locked for over a year, has Never been opened, and is just taking up space.
Then there is the matter of undesirable individuals. someone who talks their way into a town and then turns out to be a monster.
this system should be in place but w/ some sort of check to its power.

i agree that it could work w/ a power check. like a PA 4/5ths vote or something. it makes absolutely no sense to allow a bum to hamper the developement of a city. if a person is scared that a mayor will take vengence on them then maybe they shouldnt be living in the city in the 1st place.

i think mayors should be able to chose what area of the city the house goes in not be able to destroy it
