Thread: Would this be considered Harrasment/Exploiting?
There is a GCW going on if no one has noticed. If you are Rebel, exopect unwanted attention from Imperials and vice-versa..ITS WAR PEOPLE!
Also, just how does one place SF bases w/ turrets since that is impossible to do now? (I will give you the befit of the doubt, you prolly meant PvE bases since only those can have turrets now, and you can blow those up 24/7)
anyway..go blow up the bases!!! dont complain to the CSRs. You have a means to get rid of them and a sane CSR will tell you that!
Dont act helpless..fight those Imps! blow up their bases! cripes, that what Rebel vs Imperial is about!

How is taking militaty action against the expansion of enemy factional population considered 'harrasment'?

but theres a difference between placing bases for GCW purposes and placing bases to harass players

well you where right they where not SF and due to the ticket issue we decided to blow them up and we did, however i disagree that its part of the GCW we where just trying to put up a city, we hadent even put up any GCW bases, we even tried to have good relations with one of their members who had a few moisture vaporators, and that how they know where we where and the next thing we know they planted some bases

Yet if one of your faction members put a base down in the same area this would be ok? If the land is buildable anything goes.
/agree
The GCW is on going and this would be considered part of it. If your member are combantants and get shot at while trying to get in your city then that is fair game. The land has not been claimed by your city as of yet and the Imperials that placed bases outside your city should be commended for trying to limit the population of terroists on that planet. No where near an exploit.

Shrug, you don't have any rights to land that isn't part of your city yet.
True enough - but there is something called common courtesy - *watches people start wincing around her* yeah yeah, I know how rare it is nowadays - that should tell you not to place directly at the border of a town...
Common courtesy is all well and good in theory yet what about those players that have built cities near POI's? Are those players exploiting the POI locations to gain income for their cities through shuttle fees? Back in November of 2003 when player cities were added many players were displaced by Cities that went up around them without their consent, then were taxed out of that spot without choice.
I'm sorry, but the galaxy is in turmoil and I fear that if the land says you can build there, so be it.
Oh, common courtesy works in practice too if you don't decide that you just have to do things, because "you can"... ![]()
Don't get me wrong though - I am absolutely against any building close to a POI - they should have made a no-build zone around them...
In a game where a CIVIL WAR with platers as the combatants is the central theme, methinks the pacifist approach will be met with a wee bit of difficulty.
If you were strictly neutral, I could buy the argument of harrasment, but as Rebels, you should expect Imperials to come give you problems, its what they are supposed to do! (also if you were neutral, the bases would be meaningless as they could not harm you in anyway, worst they would do is take up space.
But to be Rebel and act suprised when Imperials take action against you, well what exactly did you think would happen to a town full of declared Rebels?
At least you did take the correct action and blow the bases, sending a clear message to the Imps that they cannot get away with that
