Hehe, call me a noob to housing if you want, but I was wondering how people put more than 1 line in a sign, lol. Example:

*************

* Example *

*************

I know how to change colors with the \<hexadecimal code>\<text>, but I don't know how to make a new line. Someone please help me!

You can't enter multiple lines for item descriptions or structure signs directly, but it can be done.

Used to be item descriptions and structure signs could hold something like 128 characters, but the field you typed in only held like 30 or 40.

You could type everything you wanted, including coloring and multiple lines, into any text editor and cut and paste the whole thing into the input field for the item description or structure sign.

You could scroll up and down in the input field and read everything after cutting and pasting, but you always had to clear out all text and cut and paste again if you wanted to change the name to anything else that long.

You could make some funky signs and item descriptions doing this.

NOW, I notice some item descriptions I had previously created (like armor components used for signs in my shops) are getting truncated. So they must have either changed the item description length or the text display length.

Don't know about structure signs, or if this truncation was even intended - who can tell with the code the way it is..........

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Hehe, I was afraid of that. OH well. I guess it is time for trial and error.

Yea I actually have a word document that I have saved for my signs lol Just copy & paste into the set name field and it'll work just fine. But beware...too many char's & it will cut off the end of the second line.

Well, thank you all for helping. As far as I am concerned, this post is closed, since the question has been answered several times over. THANK YOU ALL!
