Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a tool that will allow me to create a city layout. Our guild is looking to reorganize our city structures with the new patch coming.

Thanks,

There is no tool. I wish there was; that would be great IMO. I also am looking to change the layout of my city next Pub. It will be kind of hard with structures in my city that the owners have quit the game and had a sh-it load of money in the bank. =(

Try the following link for a tool that helps with layouts of cities. It is out of game but it does help with city planning.

Indeed it is a great tool! Helped out in my city planning PrePub19. Speaking of this TH - any word on shrinking down those massive footprints to the Medium Naboos that were added in with Pub19? They really are too big making things rather difficult for alot of Player Cities that have been established for a long time.

Totally agree with that. Some minor landscaping at times would be nice.. but i think most everyone has learned to deal with uneven terrain when forming player cities. You can really find some great city layouts worked specifically around the uneven terrain.

nice tool,

but kinda worthless sadly, since the biggest problem on city plannings is the terrain :/

u can never plan good since terrain will so often restrict you and u cant place a medium house where u wanted it (example) because there is something like a little silly hill in the way

in my opinion it would be way more logical and nicer if the devs could program an option that inside a city range u get all terrain flattened so u can place any structure at any point in the city. let IF rank decreases go back to default.

but this is actually worst problem mayors have to fight with. terrain!

A long time ago in a galaxy far away I suggested a Civil Engineer profession. This profession, with the ability to manufacture and place structures such as bridges, sidewalks and patios would allow every player city to be engineered around the existing terrain and maintain a very natural look. Moving the gardens and parks from the Architect profession to Civil Engineer would allow complete landscaping abilities to any city.

I once thought I made a mistake but when I checked, I was wrong... was that a mistake?

a great tool indeed, Thunderheart, but it would be better if the ground in-game around player cities were flat too so the layout could actually be neat and accurate.

not so sure this is the best place to make a suggestion, but i think it would be neat if by default, the radius of the city flattened the ground around it, so that at level 1, the area a city covers is flat, at level 2, the flat ground extends further and so forth until it maxes out at the highest city level and fades gently into the actual build of the land.

We have a lot of difficult terrain in our city on Naboo and it's time consuming to plan areas to place houses. It's hilly and has a river coming into it (more like a long lake really). However, I would *never* trade that for a flat piece of land. To me, flat land is boring.

So agree with that Zafo! Solace has alot of hilly areas and rock formations as well as a river running through but i would never trade any of it in for flat land.
