"you need an area of ground that can support a good-number of houses, and you also need at least 10 other players to place houses and declare residence within the initial 150m radius of your city .. " (from guide)

My question is ...... if there are already a few houses down in the area I wish to start my small city will the game allow me to create the city? or does all the area have to be blank completely. There are no other cities there, however there are a few single houses within, what would be my 150m radius that would NOT be in the guild !

Thanks in advance

You should be able to drop your city hall within the area. The problem will be if these players decide not to join your new city they will not count towards the residency requirements to establish a town/city. You will still need to gather 10 players to place homes/guild halls within 150 meters of city hall and declare citizenship. Also be aware that when player cities first came into existence this was a tactic many would be city planners used to claim stakes to valuable parcels of real estate and those players in the area you are looking at for you town may not be so receptive.

Many thanks for your reply RB ! Much appreciated !

Yeah, this isn't going to be a guild or major town of such, I have a collection of small friends who play using TS and have done the whole guild thing with other people. Unfortunately, we usually find that we don't quite fit into Guild Requirements / Expectation and the guilds don't really work for us. Being ex- E&B guild leader, I used to enjoy the times of when guildies "payed nothing", something I haven't seen in any guild I have joined here. i.e. Taxes and donations are ok to have the city but for loot and building stuff in my opinion should be swapped and exchanged for free across guildies.

Anyways, lol, a small guild of 10 people will suit me nicely ! Thanks again !
