Thread: So I went to Rori...

it seems that Rori's rebel base is considered a POI instead of a NPC city, therefore it doesn't have the usually no-build zone and houses can be built right next to it, including civic structures. the 1k requirement is for player cities.

it's odd that the cityban is affecting your ability to use the rebel base though, you probably want to /bug that as well as send in a CSR ticket and see if the CSRs can do anything about it. I'll also forward this thread to a CSR.

Given that this outpost is an essential part of Crimson Phoenix squadron and very useful for Vortex squadron, could this be considered griefing?

Players using /cityban to prevent people from using a starport and getting to trainers they have to get to for missions is griefing in its purest form, IMO.

I would /bug it, file a CSR ticket, and generally use every possible method to get this person booted out of the game and the ban lifted.

I would like to know who did this. I think it would also be relevent if he was in a guild. If he is not the leader you could let them know what is going on.

Definately submit a /bug report this needs fixed.

Like the title said, I went to Rori. The Rebel Outpose to be exact. I go there to meet up with some guild matesfor PvP.Iget there, and theyare talkingto some guy who claims that this outpost was his city. At first, we thought he was a Rper, but he wasn't. He kept telling us to leave or we would be banned from 'his' city. We didn't and we though he was just joking about the ban.Though, soon enoughwe all got a message saying we'd beenbanned..blah blah. So a guildie trys to go shuttle from the outpost but isn't able. We can't use anything from the outpost now and aren't able to travel there anymore...

So here's how it happened. A player city had been placed near this outpost and had grown over it, making it a part of the city. So now, did they remove that1km area around a city where nothing could be placed..or what? How could this happen?

Anyone else had problems like this?

I quit.

What server are you on btw? and are you one of those damn Imperial Jedi that load gank SF people in the RO or malinger flrce cloaked next to the Rebel recruiter?

PS Load ganking is exploiting..might want to explain to a CSR why you were hanging out there in the first place.

This happend in the town I live in before (we have a town on top of the RO on Chilastra) cep the person in question was a doofus and never actually TRIED to shuttle out, he just ASSUMED the NPC shuttle would no longer work for him and went on a rant fest about it.

I can only assume that you actually tried to purchase a ticket from the terminal in the RO and tried to use it? or did you simply see the 'you are banned' message and assumed the worst?

There's a city on Gorath built around the Rebel Outpost, and they have their trainers and terminals built up right in front of the outpost, making it extremly laggy when exiting. Not to mention it looks completley cluttered up, and I don't think it's fair that the city is getting a free shuttle.
The Rebel Outpost should have a no-build zone around it, it's quite stupid that it doesn't. I've contacted and complained to CSRs many times about atleast moving the terminals and trainers that belong to the city out of the Rebel Outpost, but so far there isn't anything. Two CSRs have told me this is an "exploit", but nothing has been done about it so far that I've seen.

If I was a CSR, I'd go in there, pack up the city and move it away. But they don't have that much guts...

Our city radius on Chilastra encompasses the RO but we are not right on top of it (in the sense we have things sitting right on the entrance.) In fact there is a wide space around the RO in our town that looks like its a no-build zone.

Now I do know its possible to place trainers in the RO , but those trainers are CITY property and as such they can be controlled by /cityban and thats NOT an exploit. Same goes for terminals that got dropped in there as well.

As a matter of fact I know of an Imperial held town that has done the same thing with the Imperial Outpost on Rori (tho that place doesnt have all the stuff that the Rebel Outpost has) but they too can stuff trainers and terminals into that facility.

Really what I think this is , is a left over from the unfinished coding that allowed places like the RO, the Hyperdrive facility, etc to change hands.

Now I still havent heard exactly "why" this particular ban happend in the first place. I know there has to be another side to this story

PS*ANY* city located within 500m of a NOPC city is like having a "free" shuttle. Havent you every noticed on the overhead map how the buildings ring the entire circumfrence of NPC cities like Mos Eisley and Coronet?, and how many player cities get clustered in the vicinity.

Let's face it - Rori is a low level planet and a boring one at that but regardless I don't find it justfiable that ANYONE takes advantage of something that should not even be happening. This is the type of thing that is going on now and Player Cities are getting screwed even more. Apparently some people don't care enough about the whole community which is quite sad.

Imperial OP on Rori? Which would this be? The Rebel OP offers the shuttle which btw too many of you are taking for granted as city shuttles should have to be EARNED. Just another way for the griefers to ruin yet another thing in this game. Medium Naboo Footprints ring a bell?

Player Cities in the vicinity of ANY NPC City you will not see. First, any that you do see will be 1000m from one another, second those people that did not want to join Player Cities typically set up their homes outside of a Major Starport for their convenience.

I don't care what the reasoning is behind banning this particular person as there should be players aware that what they are doing is not right in terms of building around particular outposts, poi's, etc. Then people wonder why City Ban is now under heavy fire as well. Think before you do things people, really.. it is not that hard of a concept. And to those Mayors that take the "free ride" at getting their shuttles, /tsktsk. Take pride in building up a great city... from the ground up! This includes Rank 1-5. It's a gratifying feeling once you finally accomplish that goal.

Always someone out there trying to give Player Cities a bad name. This is really sad that this player did that and he should be banned for doing such things imo.
