Thread: Solution needed..
What would you do with all of the items in the house? My house contains several hundred items that could not possibly fit in my inventory.
To me, the best solution is to force players to clear their houses before allowing them to cancel their subscription. If they let their account lapse, then just remove it all from the game.

mine does too..and i value those items that is why i wouldnt cancel my subscription, leaving my items in my house and expect them all to be there when i return. Make it 2 months.. it makes a difference.. there are houses in my city that have not been used in a year. And of course no taxes are being paid..
Heck make it all easier, and levy the taxes regardless of login. eventually their bank account will empty and house will decay and poof naturally.. it will take longer but the city will at least be able to maintain.

It is a point of coolness but i have a TON of houses that exist for players that are no longer in game.. Taxes arent being paid and ths city is slowly dying, room for new houses is extremely scarce.Anyhow, i had this idea.Like the PA leadership change. where you can vote out your guildleader for not logging in.Allow the mayor to 'Flag' a house or citizen from the citizen list on the city terminal, if that player doesnt log in for a month from the time the house is flagged, then the house gets deeded into the owners bank and removed from the city, Freeing up space for a new active resident.
we have heard rumblings of a character purge of inactive accounts of 6 months or longer for a while now, If and When they do implement this, it will help with this problem and it will also allow younger more active cities to replace the older dead ones that are just filling the upper tier city size slots.
