Thread: Top City and Housing Issues
- PLAYER CITY STARPORTS - In a nutshell, the player base wants this enabled. General opinion is that it should be granted at level four or five.
- Starports are currently NOT allowed in any player cities, only static cities.
- MILITIA BUG - Militia randomly drops people from its' roster, making the Mayor's job that much more difficult. Let's get it fixed, Devs.
- This bug is currently active as of 5/31/05
- CITY STREETS - Players would like streets as seen in the static cities, as well as arches, city walls, and other random decor.
- Currently streets. walls, etc. are not enabled for player cities; decor is limited to streetlamps, fountains, statues, and parks.
- ABANDONED HOUSES - These blights make planning our cities difficult and can sometimes lessen a city's ability to grow. Either the auto withdrawl needs to be turned off, or mayors should be able to petition to remove these structures.
- Houses currently become condemned when their maintenance runs out. At that point maintenance fees are drawn from the structure owners' bank. If THAT runs out the house continues to sit without ever disappearing.
- HOUSING APPEARANCE - Players would like to change the colors offloors and walls to give their residences a more personal touch.
- Houses are currently fixed with a generic interior that is not customizable by players.
- PLAYER PURGE - Many cities are populated by residents whose accounts are expired. We would like to see a system put in place where after a certain ammount of time players (and their buildings and possessions) are purged from the system. This should only affect accounts that have been expired for more than six months, minimum.
- Currently there has not been a purge in over a year.
- TERRAIN ALTERATION - Players would like for the terrain to be flattened to a certain degree when attempting to place a house so that there are more viable options for home placement. If this could not be done on an individual basis for non-city housing, mayors should be given the ability to modify ground inside their city limits, within reason.
- Currently there is no way to alter any terrain (other than moving small trees and shrubs when putting doen structures.
As I say, these are the top issues we seem to constantly bring up. If anyone has something they think should be addressed, reply and I will edit the list as neccessary. And perhaps this could be stickied so as to reduce the number of highly repetitive posts? Also, I have tried to avoid things which may be a pure mayoral issue, although a couple may fit that bill. I suggest that if you have mayor issues that you check out the POLITICIAN board under PROFFESSIONS.

I know that this one has been brought up by Politicians before. We were told it absolutely will not happen. Might as well remove it from the list.

actually, half of the items on that list has already been turned down by the devs. most of the rest of what you mentioned are on the top issues list for the politician profession.

Militia Issues - /cityban is broken. /cityban'd players can still transport into cities because of a bug whereby the player simply opens up his/her inventory and clicks the ticket.
(status - developers will not acknowledge this bug/exploit nor will fix it.)
