Well thank you I made the mistake of thinking that other dancers would feel the same way I do. I posted a very similar message on the dancer forums and got slaughtered.

8 hours is pathetic. Why cant they be permanent? Lets look at this realistically.I am a shop owner of a shop in the Outter rim teritories. SO I fly all the way to Bestine to get a Jukebox, set it up in my shop, go to bed, and the next day, POOF!

WT*, where is my Jukebox...honestly? Nuff said.

Other than the fact that the Special Edition Max Rebo song sounds like it was recorded with a tape deck off of a television, I think the jukebox is great.

All of these event perks are money sinks to get some of the credits out of the game. Hopefully in a few months they will be craftable and just run on batteries or something.

The only annoying thing is, even if you don't deploy the 'Rental deeds' they disappear from your inventory 8 hours after... so you gotta travel to buy stuff every time...

I love the new Event Items.

Should be longer than 8 hours though. You should be able to select how long you would like to rent the item, with a reasonable limit, ie no longer than a couple days.

With the amount of time some people spend to just set up these events, 8 hours is nothing.

I'd gladly pay 25k extra a day to have one in my shop or tent, or even my home. It would be great if you could get it to loop all the tracks, or to program them in an order or something.

I really enjoy the jukebox - I think it has a lot of applications for all types of things. Myself (I am a Master Dancer) and a few musicians have already started creating and choreographing new performance sets to compliment the jukebox, to see just how far we can test the "limits" of it and which of our skills integrate best with it. Its been an absolute blast so far. However, I have to disagree with most people here about its duration - I think 8hrs is ample enough, as it is mainly for an "event" purposes, and no event I know holds peoples attention span for 8hrs, let alone more**winks**.

Jukeboxes have their time and place - they are suitable to some situations/events where a live band would be impossible or unreasonable. For example, I am also a tailor: I have been using a juke box whilst I craft so there is something pleasant to listen to whilst I design outfits or fulfill orders, as well as to chat to my customers as they come in for custom fittings. So far I've been changing the music in my house to suit the "tailoring" needs of my clients while we talk about the outfit, such as turning to the Pod Racer music for exciting adventure ideas if they are after a hunting outfit, or something like one of the Romantics if they are after something formal. However, I don't think it would be reasonable or fairto ask a live musician to stand in my house to create ambience whilst my clients decide whether they want the pink or purple hawtpants - hence the jukebox is ideal.

However,in defense of the entertainers out there - they have good reason to bemiffed at the way the jukebox was implemented, as many of the songs (Max Rebo, Faigrin (sp?) and the planetary Celebrations for example) could have been better used as new content and material for the musicians. Suggestions that perhaps musicians could create and install the jukeboxes, as well asinstall the songs they make with their "recording" droid have been a few suggestions as tohow the jukebox may have been better left in the hands of the musicians. I think its important for people to try and understand where they are coming fromonthis, as many entertainers feel that another non-playermachine has taken their place and in effect they areyet again losing their audience to an automaton. What I don't think a lot of people realise is that for the real entertainers out there, our purpose is driven soley by the desire to entertain - we don't want to just heal or buff our patrons, we actually want to make yourdowntime an enjoyable and fun experience so you can leave the cantina feeling ready to go another round with the kimos or krayts, and we need to have an audience to achieve that. I hope that sheds some light and understanding as to how many of the entertainers may feel, and encourage people to not forget live entertainers in favor of the jukebox because it is the easy option. There are some fantastic live entertainer troupes out there as well as some awesome solo performers, and beleive me - there is just something about live entertainers that a little blue terminal can't capture **winks**.

Cheers,

Annie

You'd run into some serious copyright issues with that. Plus, some schmuck would want to screw it up for everyone else and load up something very inappropriate.

No worries AmythestGH I'm a Musician and I happen to love the Jukebox. It does not play the same songs that I can play as a musician or if they are it's nothing like anythingI've ever heard froma musician. And no in my opinion it isnot the death of entertainers for one thing to my knowledge it can not heal wounds, BF or do mind buffs. True those three items are not the be all end all of entertainers but they do seem to be what most combat typesexpect from entertainers. I have already set up a Jukebox in our mini mall and set one up in our PA hall andI have every intention of replacing them when I get home from work tonight. They won't take the place of outdoor RP events either since they can not beplaced outside.

I only have a couple of problems with them: A) they can only be heard in the room in which they have been placed and not all over the house, B) Having them last a 24hour period in my opinion would be better then a 8 hour period C) I think itwould be great if they would play a selection of songs being able to set of a list of songs they could rotate though would be great, being able to setup how long it will play each song and then it will switch to the next song in the selected list would be very cool I think.

5 stars to you as well.

Yeah, the jukebox is very cool. But it's not worth the effort, in my oppinion. 25k for eight hours... eh. It should be a permanent item, built by Architects and Musicians.
