Thread: The wasteland of condemned structures
I know of several people that keep their city with shuttleport going only because of lot trades with other galaxies... I look forward to a purge - or even going back to the old system where a structure would fall after some time without maintenance - because the way it is right now it is a crying shame for cities that are actually alive but can't grow due to dead cities taking up slots...

Now, I don't agree that actively playing members should lose their houses if they don't pay maintenance. I am military, and I sometimes go on deployments at the last second. I pay my subscription fee regardless, but obviously I can't log in to the game to pay maintenance on my house. You think this game is top thing on my mind when I get the phone call that I am deploying in 3 hours? No, my mind is on more important matters (the family I ignore the rest of the time, lol) So, if we went with the old way of doing things, everytime I deployed, I would lose everything I placed in my house. After one or two times of this happening, I would probably get pretty frustrated, and give up on the game completely. If they did the purge like they are supposed to, there wouldn't be the complaining though. Let me go on deployments without an added fear of having to start almost completely over on a game I love.
First: I congratulate you sir! Be safe out there.
Second: I think if things got torn up and placed in your datapad for you instead of losing it all it would be acceptable, I know I would much rather have that happen than lose all my items that I spent a year collecting (as it has happened to me once) The condemnation was put in for people in your situation I think. Maybe they can allow for condemnation of active acounts while allowing for canceled acount structures to decay as normal. But they will probably just put everything up in people's datapads for easier coding (like everything else)
